lots of ways of describing myself … Full time anthropologist, part time futurist. 25+ years in the heart of Silicon Valley. First at Stanford, Phd In cultural anthro; then in Intel …. in a company whose biz is, quite explicitly, about making the future … My job was to put people back into the process by which technology is made … it is about the human element. Last job here was as futurist – responsible for looking out over the next 10 years – technology trends yes, but more importantly about people/culture … 9 months ago returned to Australia to become a professor at Australian National University … in College of Computer Science and Engineering …. Part of a larger reinvention of engineering at the ANU … Professor of computer science & engineering at ANU. Thinking about institutional responses to new technologies and change. Senior Fellow & VP at Intel Child of Australia, anthropologist by training. Stanford phd. etc
