Warm Greetings!
Unit - “REPRODUCTION IN ORGANISMS”
In this YouTube link ,you have to learn about “REPRODUCTION IN ORGANISMS” lesson.
Reproduction is the process by which living beings give its own kind to the world.
 Types of reproduction
• Asexual Reproduction
• Sexual reproduction
Asexual reproduction modes ->fission, budding, fragmentation, regeneration.
Sexual reproduction modes-> syngamy, autogamy, exogamy, hologamy, paedogamy,
merogamy, isogamy, anisogamy and conjugation.
o Special type of mode -> parthenogenesis
 Parthenogenesis -> natural and artificial
 Development of embryo
• Oviparous
• Viviparous
• Ovoviviparous

INTRODUCTION
Hope all would have learnt the first chapter with the given url links. The second chapter is
about “Human Reproduction”
In this chapter, we are going to look about the following sections
Reproduction is the process of giving one’s own species and maintain about them.
The events of human reproduction are as follows:
1. Gametogenesis -> Formation of gametes
2. Insemination -> transfer of sperms by the male into the female genital tract.
3. Fertilisation -> Ovum fertilized by the sperm
4. Cleavage -> To produce blastula
5. Implantation -> on the walls of uterus
6. Placentation -> Embedding of embryo on the endometrium of the uterus
7. Gastrulation -> Movement of blastomeres
8. Organogenesis -> Formation of specific tissues, organs and organ systems
from three germ layers.
9. Parturition -> development of human foetus and give birth the child.

Unit - “ASEXUAL AND SEXUAL REPRODUCTION”
In this YouTube link ,you have to learn about “ASEXUAL AND SEXUAL REPRODUCTION” lesson.
Every organism in the universe reproduces.
 Methods they adopt are:
• Fragmentation, budding, gemma, binary fission, regeneration
Organisms reproduce through Asexual and sexual means
Asexual Reproduction -> natural ways, artificial ways, micropropagation(modern method)
Sexual Reproduction -> Gametogenesis and fertilization
In Plants -> how does reproduction happen? Stages are
• Development of microspore
• Development of megaspore
• Presence of Embryo sac
• Pollination, cross-pollination
• Fertilization, Double fertilization
• Seed formation
• Formation of fruit

BIO BOTANY CHAPTER 2 ( Pages 2 & 3)
INTRODUCTION
This is the second chapter in Bio-Botany. It is about “Classical Genetics” .
Hope all would have learnt about the first chapter in the given url.
The topics that we are going to cover in this chapter are:
Heredity and variation -> transmission of characters from parents to offsprings.
• Variation types
1. Continuous variation
2. Discontinuous variation
Mendelism -> Contribution of Mendel to the Genetics
 Laws of mendelian inheritance ->
Laws of Dominance -> Expression of only one of the parental
characters in F1 generation
Laws of Segregation -> Expressions of both the characters are seen in
F2 generation.
Monohybrid cross, dihybrid cross, Trihybrid cross -> Monohybrid is the inheritance of a
single character. Dihybrid cross is the inheritance of two characters. Trihybrid cross is
the inheritance of multiple traits.
Backcross and testcross -> TestCross is the crossing an individual of unknown
genotype with a homozygous recessive. Backcross is a cross of F1 hybrid with any one
of the parental genotypes.
Interaction of genes -> a single phenotype is controlled by more than one set of genes.
Polygenic inheritance -> several genes combine to affect a single trait
Extra chromosomal inheritance -> Traits of the genes in nuclear chromosomes are
controlled by either the chloroplast or mitochondria
