MONTHLY ACTIVITY REPORT-Oct 2018

1. Hindi Comprehension Classes are now taken by President at Navodaya Centre.

2. Navodaya exam has been scheduled in the month of April 2019 now

3. Efforts are now being made to commence Navodaya Entrance Prep at Aashiyana

Center.

4. All issues pending in the secure admission of students selected in Navodaya have

been sorted out after meeting ADM (Additional District Magistrate ) twice. Sankap

team will meet the Principal on 17th November to complete the formalities of

document handover.

5. There is tremendous progress in the construction of Sankalp Vidyashram. Rooms are

now ready with all the four walls fully constructed. We are waiting for funds from

Empowered Kids Foundation to start the civil work for the terrace.

6. Academic Team has developed a master file for saving the marks scored by students

in CT. Abhijay from third year is preparing the sheet on monthly basis and is

circulating in whatsapp groups for review.

7. Marks of the sponsored students will be highlighted in blue. Academic Reports will

be sent to sponsors every quarter.

8. CT Results were shared from Talnuagaon and Mohangiri Centers.

9. Sankalp children were invited to participate in the DAAN UTSAV festival at XLRI.

Students also performed a skit on national integration. Events like drawing

competition and games were held and students were awarded at the end of the event.

10. Students were also shown the movie-“Madagascar”

11. Half Yearly results of Sumit and Aarti were shared from Dhanbad Center. Both the

students have scored above 75% and hold ranks within top 10 in their respective

classes.

12. Manasi, our Telco Centre student won Akanksha Scholarship prize given by Tata

Motors Shiksha Prasar Kendra for scholastic achievement on the International Girl

Child Day.

13. Smriti, our 2K13 batch volunteer and one of the founders of Dhanbad Center

celebrated her birthday with the students of Dhanbad Centre along with Vivek,

Subodh and Vivek ( 3rd year ). She distributed sweets, snacks, notebook and stationery

among the kids.

14. A meeting was conducted with the sponsored students and their parents ffrom Mohan

Nagar center. The students who scored less than 60% marks in their half yearly exam

were cautioned and warned to improve the marks so that their sponsorship can be

continued.

15. Students were trained by the President to perform a special skit on the eve of Gandhi

Jayanti to spread the message of Truth and Non-Violence.

16. Induction programme was conducted for the new batch of 2K18 by the president.

There was huge turn up at the event and more than 200 students expresses their

interest to get involved in Sankalp.

17. Sankalp has started raising funds thru crowdsourcing for the sponsorship of children

and it has started the campaign on Impact Guru.

18. Sankalp received invitation from Foundation to attend the District Level Consultation

at Agrasen Bhawan for the expansion of Sarthi Program and become a potential

partner for driving education and livelihood related programs in Seraikila District.

19. Full House meeting was conducted with the Volunteers to motivate them and divide

second year volunteers in different teams as per the norms.

20. Classes are running in full swing at Ranchi Center. Our Chief Corporate Support

Partner M/S SNL Bearings has been apprised of the recent developments at the center

and photos were mailed to the concerned CSR Team.

21. Special Classes dedicated to the Physical Education for all the girls of Sankalp centers

was organized on 18th Oct. This is the first time when Sankalp held a common session

for all the girls above 12 years at the same place to create an environment where girls

from different backgrounds would get a chance to learn from the experiences of

others and feel secure in sharing their plight and stories.

22. Students from Birhor Centre are participating in Sanskriti for the first time. They are

going to present a dance which will depict pain of a child labour

23. A new teacher has joined at the Birhor Centre and will take classes from 20th October.

24. Monthly interaction led by President took place with the Team and special mention

was made to the tireless efforts which the volunteers are making for making the

different activities successful

1. Both Sankalp-A pledge to change and Sankalp Volunteers group FB

page noted huge hike in likes and membership over the month

2. Sankalp saw a huge rise in daily requests for addition to its FB Page of

Sankalp Volunteers Group.
