“How the Grinch Stole Christmas” Activity Mat These codes don’t replace the actual books! Please read and share the books first. Let the children enjoy the pictures and the theatre of turning the pages. Then, when students need to hear the story again, these codes make them independent. I print (back-to-back) and laminate this activity mat as an activity for literacy groups, or activities for fast finishers. The QR Codes are Safeshare, so no ads or things to distract. The codes have the book being read, the song, “You’re a Mean One Mr Grinch” and a step-by step Grinch drawing lesson. I find the activities encourage students to read, enjoy and, more importantly, think and delve into the book. You can decide whether you want students to complete every task, or simply choose a number. Children like choice, so I at least ask that they experience every code and complete at least one related activity. I’ve included answers for the quiz, a lined page and a film strip page if you wish to print and use for the activities. © Copyright 2017 M. Henderson (Aussie Waves). All rights reserved by author.
