AN ACT OF SPIRITUAL

COMMUNION

when one cannot receive

the Holy Eucharist:

My Jesus,

I believe that You

are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.

I love You above all things,

and I desire to receive You into my soul.

Since I cannot at this moment

receive You sacramentally,

come at least spiritually into my heart.

I embrace You as if You were already

there and unite myself wholly to You.

Never permit me to be separated from

You. Amen.

Father’s Day Collection for retired

priests. This weekend, June 20 and 21, is the annual Father’s Day Collection. Retired priests, including Bishop Emeritus Victor Balke, say many hundreds of Masses for our diocese each year. They substitute for our active priests, take on new ministries, offer retreats, and provide sup-port and counsel to Bishop Hoeppner. Many re-tired priests (health permitting) continue to serve for years after their official retirement, typically their 70th birthday. Your gift to the Father’s Day Collection provides for the health insurance pre-miums and medical expenses of our retired priests. Please be generous once again to the 2020 Father’s Day Collection.

If you are in need of a mask for personal protective equip-ment to attend church, Joan Schmitz is offering to make one for you and members of your

family. There is no fee for the mask. Con-tact Joan at 253-2400.

St. Joseph extends our sympathy and prayers to the family of Christopher Novak. May he find eternal rest and peace.

“Everyone who acknowledges me before others I will acknowledge before my heavenly Father.” (Matthew 10:32) Would others know that you are Catholic by the way you act and speak? Do you share your Catholic faith with others? Do you defend your Catholic faith when the situation arises or do you remain silent? Do you pray in public before meals? Pray for the strength and courage to be a joyful witness of our Catholic faith when the opportunity presents itself. Let us become the radiant light and bold witness that we are called to be!

DOROTHY CEMETERY MASS: I had originally scheduled our annual Mass for June 28th. Given all the changes, I anticipate now moving that Mass to the fall, when we have resumed our regu-lar schedule and there is no longer a Noon Mass at Terrebonne. I look forward to when we can gather there and honor the souls buried at St. Dorothy's. Fr. Bob

THANK YOU to everyone who made my 95th birthday so special! I enjoyed all the cards (115 of them) with all the well wishes and fond memories, gifts, baked/canning

goods, flowers, and honks (too numerous to count). I appreciate whatever you did to make my birthday so enjoyable. May God Bless You! Irene Etterman

Congratulations to Gage

Michael Novak, son of Samantha & Michael, who was bap-tized this weekend at St. Joseph-RLF.

Pope’s Intention for June The Way of the Heart

We pray that all those who suffer may find their way in life, allowing themselves to be touched by the

Heart of Jesus.

Prayer for Police Officers

Oh, Almighty God, whose great power and eternal wisdom embraces the universe. Watch over all policemen and law enforce-ment officers. Father in Heaven please give them the strength, cour-age and perseverance to endure unjust condemnation, danger, and physical abuse to which they are, at times, subjected. We recommend them to your loving care because their duty is dangerous. Dear God, grant these brave men and women your almighty protection, Unite them safely with their families after duty has ended. Amen

A PRAYER FOR CHRISTIAN FATHERS

Heavenly Father, you entrusted your Son Jesus, the child of Mary, to the care of Joseph, an earthly father. Bless all fathers as they care for their families. Give them strength and wis-dom, tenderness and patience; support them in the work they have to do, protecting those who look to them, as we look to you for love and salvation, through Jesus Christ our rock and defender. Amen.
