The Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0) has become a pushing factor for Islamic finance industry to adapt to highly disruptive technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, big data and robotics. As much as it wants to be on the same playing field by placing a flexible and robust business model which improves its efficiency and relevancy, Islamic finance industry players must ensure the sanctity of shariah governance and compliance are kept intact. Many initiatives have been done in the past years to ensure that Islamic finance continues to be accessible to all Malaysians through among other technologies. With the combination of digital financial services, Islamic finance is now able to channel their services to remote and underserved populations. Policies and regulatory environments have been structured to facilitate and support this digital development in Islamic finance to enhance financial inclusion.

IF InnoFest 2019 seeks to create a platform that brings together industry, regulatory bodies and universities to develop and implement breakthrough ideas and innovative solutions in Islamic finance. The event will focus on the idea pitching from the selected participants. Concurrently, there will also be Action Based Learning Posters Competition by selected universities throughout Malaysia. We are delighted to invite you to join us at our IF InnoFest 2019 on July 2019, Sasana Kijang, Bank Negara Malaysia, with the theme “Digitalising Islamic Economy & Finance”.
