Borrowed from LLI The first goal you must establish is to mak e Jesus Christ Lord of every aspect of your lif e. As J esus said, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himsel f and tak e up his cro ss and follow me” (Matthew 16:24). The disciple must take up his cross. The Romans who occupied Palestine in the time o f Jesus used crucifixio n as a method of execution for those convicted of capital crimes . The cross, therefore, is a symbol of death. When Christ calls you to take up your cross, He is calling you to die to yourself, your ambitions, and plans in life and to dev ote y ourself fully to following Him. Jesus also says in the next verse, “Whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it. “ (Mt. 16:25). The 33 means, 33 minutes spent Meeting, Sitting, Teaching, Talking and Praying will make a whole lot of difference in your Christian walk.
