des Groseilliers Funeral Home

John des Groseilliers HardwickMessage from the Show Committee

We welcome you to this, the 60th annual Antique and Classic Car Meet of the Vermont Auto Enthusiasts. It is now one of the oldest and largest antique car shows in the Northeast, and perhaps in the country. When this show began, Model A Fords were barely old enough to be eligible, and the spectator parking lot was full of vehicles that today would be rare and valuable antique cars. We have grown immensely over the years. We started at the Spruce Peak Ski Area parking lot, on the Mountain Road in Stowe, and went to the Top Notch meadow when we needed more room. We then moved again to our current location, the Nichols Field, to accommodate our need for more space. We are pleased to be at the Nichols Field for this big 60th Anniversary event. We may now need to move again for subsequent years. The river adjoining this field is constantly eroding its banks, and reducing the available flea market area. We do not have enough spectator parking, and we suffer from poor drainage in wet weather. We have located a superior, level, and larger field which would serve us well for many years. It is over the town line, in Waterbury, closer to Interstate 89, and still very accessible to Stowe. We will keep you informed as we plan for the next 60 years of the Show.
