    Objectives

    The student will

    Investigate the contours of Ante-Nicene Christian theology. Become intimately familiar with significant Ante-Nicene Christian

    theologians.

    Be able to analyze and synthesize the various theological positionsprior to Nicaea.

    Look for ways to learn the theological lessons of the history ofChristian doctrine.

    Three (3) non-cumulative examinations

    evaluating both the level of information

    retained by the student and the ability to

    synthesize that material. All exams willbe taken on Moodle. No make-up

    exams will be given for reasons other

    than illness or death in the family. No

    exams will be given late. Ever.

    Weekly Talking Points

    Each week you will write your talking

    points from the primary text readings.

    These will be submitted on Moodle for

    the class to download. No late entrieswill be accepted. Ever. For any reason.

    Period. Dont ask.

    Essay

    You will write a 3000-word, properly-styled essay on a

    topic consistent with the course. The essay will be

    submitted in stages, and you will be graded for eachsubmission.

    Academic Integrity

    Students are expected to reflect the high standard of

    academic integrity as spelled out in the catalogue and

    Student Handbookof the Southeastern BaptistTheological Seminary. Plagiarism or academic theft of

    any kind will not be tolerated. If discovered, thestudent will receive an automatic failing grade with no

    chance for absolution. Above all, seminary students

    ought to practice the highest in academic integrity.There is no excuse for anything less.

    A = 95-100

    B = 86-94

    C = 77-85

    D = 68-76

    F = below 68

    Classroom policies

    Students are expected to attend classes. Astudent absent more than one-fourth of thetotal number of classes will receiveautomatically a grade of F.

    No eating in class. Coffee is encouraged.Other beverages are fine as well.

    TURN off cell phones. The professor willanswer phones that ring in class.

    No hats are to be worn in class.
