Antarctica
Antarctica is the coldest, driest and most southern point on Earth. It is a frozen desert covered by a sheet of ice over a mile thick. Some animals that can live in this harsh, cold climate are emperor penguins, adelie penguins, rockhopper penguins, king penguins, chinstrap penguins, gentoo penguins, fur seals, leopard seals, Weddell seals, elephant seals, albatross, petrels, blue whales, killer whales and krill. ©Sheri Amsel

Antarctica
Antarctica is the continent found on the most southern part of the planet. It is the coldest and driest place on Earth – a frozen desert. It is covered by a sheet of ice over a mile thick. Scientists believe the Antarctic ice sheets hold 90% of the Earth’s freshwater. Many animals live in Antarctica, adapted to the harsh, cold climate and dark winters. They include emperor penguins, adelie penguins, rockhopper penguins, king penguins, chinstrap penguins, gentoo penguins, fur seals, leopard seals, Weddell seals, elephant seals, albatross, petrels, blue whales, killer whales and krill. ©Sheri Amsel
