Bless the LORD, all you angels, you ministers, who do his will. Psalms 103:21
Dear Parents,
We had some beautiful singing this morning from our newly formed school choir.
Mrs. Mancini works with six 5th-8th grade girls on Tuesdays at lunch and before Mass on
Wednesdays to rehearse and they add such a nice touch to our all-school Masses. The
choir members include: Danielle Tranchita, Lauren Tranchita, Elly Tuma, Marisa
Schupbach, and Madilyn Gapinske.
Thank you to those parents who made some of their tuition payment since last week, but
there are a large number of families whose accounts are now past due. Letters will be sent home
next week to families with past due amounts. Please log into TADS to see where you are at with
your payments. The first quarter ends on 10/25 and families need to be close to 25% of payments
made in order to continue enrollment in the second quarter. If you need to discuss your tuition
account, please contact me.
I came across this September 2017 article recently and thought it would be interesting to
share with our parents. https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2017/09/has-the-smartphone-
destroyed-a-generation/534198/ I know the title is a bit dramatic, but the article has some startling
statistics and data for parents to think about as they raise their children in the era of smartphones.
The article is long, so I recommend you bookmark it to read when you have time to devote to it.
For families who are contemplating when to give their child a cell phone, the website Wait Until
8th https://www.waituntil8th.org/ might be very helpful, too. Hopefully these resources can help you
navigate this subject and open up dialogue with your children.
We are looking for 6 more BAKERS to make 3 DOZEN COOKIES
for the reception after the Luminary Mass on 10/9. Please sign up at this
link if you can donate homemade or bakery cookies to share with our fellow
parishioners. https://signup.com/login/entry/337034404143360073
Finally, enjoy these cute pictures of our Preschool and 8th Grade classes
meeting their “buddies” for the first activity of the year. I often speak of our class
buddy program and the benefits it provides to both the older and younger students.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Jennifer Wardynski

WE NEED YOUR HELP!
The 8th grade class is once again collecting Box Tops for Education to raise money for their class trip to Chicago. Please send in any Box Tops that you have been saving at home ASAP and no later than October 15th. Your help in collecting these Box Tops is greatly appreciated. The Box Top program will only be accepting the traditional paper Box Top squares for a short time more. They are modernizing the program to use mobile technology. There is a new app you can download on your phone. When you purchase a product with the Box Top logo you can scan your receipt and our school will automatically get the credit for the Box Top. For now we can actually get double the points for clipping the box top AND scanning receipts with Box Top items. Scanning needs to be completed within 14 days of purchase. See the school website for more information at https://www.annunciationbvm.org/box-tops-for-education Here is a link to find out more: Box Tops for Education The Mobile App is Box Tops for Education Thank you for your continued support of this program! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Families,
The Box Tops for Education program is changing the way we can earn cash for our school!
Over the summer, participating brands have begun to change their packaging from the traditional Box Tops clip to the new Box Tops label.
Going forward, instead of clipping from packages and checking expiration dates, all Box Tops will be earned digitally by scanning your receipt. The Box Tops for Education team has worked hard to build a NEW-and-improved, user-friendly Box Tops mobile app, available now.
The new app features state-of-the-art technology that allows you to scan your store receipt, find participating products and instantly add Box Tops to our school's earnings online.
If you still have traditional Box Tops clips at home, make sure to send them to school. We will still earn cash for all clipped Box Tops until they expire. Better yet, you can “double dip” during the packaging transition by clipping traditional Box Tops AND scanning your store receipt containing participating products.
Thanks for helping our school get what it needs!
BE SURE TO DOWNLOAD THE NEW APP OR UPDATE YOUR EXISTING APP:
