REPORT 2017-2018
MISSION
The Women’s Business Center of Utah (WBCUtah) helps Utah women build confidence, create new opportunities and experience success in business ownership through individual mentorship and group and online training.
STRUCTURE
The Women’s Business Center of Utah (WBCUtah) is a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit which is a “supporting organization” to and hosted by the Salt Lake Chamber and funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement between the Salt Lake Chamber and the U.S. Small Business Administration. WBCUtah is self-sustaining and financially independent from the Salt Lake Chamber; although the missions are unique, they are complementary.
“If it weren’t for the support, mentorship and training of the Women’s Business Center of Utah, Snap Shop Photo would not be as successful. Deb Bilbao, at WBCUtah, was an invaluable resource offering amazing mentorship and support to my business. Her knowledge of business and access to resources continues to assist me in making wise business decisions. The SBA’s dedication to my small business has been a keystone of the studio’s success. I am so honored to be a part of this amazing group of women. Thank you for all you do! ”
2018 WBCUTAH WOMAN ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR
“It is both an honor and a privilege to serve as Board Chair of the Women’s Business Center of Utah. The need to support women entrepreneurs has never been more necessary in our economy and state. I want to recognize the positive impact of WBCUtah, with statewide support, of women business owners through the training, mentoring and resources they provide. Over the years, I have seen firsthand what it takes to make a difference in the business community and WBCUtah goes above and beyond in assisting women throughout Utah. The 2017-2018 annual report shares some interesting data and highlights the success and impact the Women’s Business Center has contributed to our state.”
“This past year we’ve celebrated several major milestones including the celebration of our 20th Anniversary, being awarded an additional SBA grant to open a second office in Cedar City, and filing a DBA to be know as the ‘Women’s Business Center of Utah.’ With the support of the Salt Lake Chamber, U.S. Small Business Administration and many other organizations and individuals, WBCUtah will now be able to more effectively help Utah women business owners statewide. Thank you for being a part of this great work and helping to improve the lives of Utah women business owners and their families.”
