PRESIDENT’S STATEMENT

Consistent with standards set all these years, I, on behalf of Executive Committee Members, present this Annual Report for the year ending 31st March 2010, to General Body. This report has also been circulated for information and reference to each Organization with which Manushuo-Uthan was associated with. Copy of report is made available to Life Members, Ordinary members and Student Members for record and reference. Copies also shared with Manushuo-Uthan Facilitators, Associated Faculty, and supporters.

I, as President, Manushuo-Uthan, attempted to place salient achievements, initiatives in brief and task undertaken, including avenues explored to increase span of operational boundary. I am highlighting each aspect, achievements and issues in readable and understandable length and width.

I am greatly privileged to have got sustained support of Managing Committee (MC) when a crucial decision to venture in Indian Corporate domain was taken. The leap to upgrade people skills and harnessing positive attitude aimed to empower one and all to harness potential at ground level is a turning point in Manushuo-Uthan life. Resolve to undertakes selective consulting and assisting on selective ventures on ethical principle is the hall mark.

During the Year under report, Manushuo-Uthan took up among regular assignments, new venture to bring in holistic improvement of employees. It spread operation wings to address issues related with “sustainable development” in additional nine Company / Organizations of varied size, turn over, dimensions, approach and perspective and dispositions. These include Navratna CPSUs, Central Power Sector Utilities, State CPSUs and Government controlled Utilities.

A cursory glance mirrors Manushuo-Uthan initiative a giant step in addressing issues of holistic people development, indeed commendable task. Another foot of recognition is venturing in the areas of involving, Top Management Personnel to appreciate grass root employees perspective, create synergic environment, mutual trust which helps creating team bond. Foray to deal with induction level people comprising of workman, supervisors and managerial personnel and help creating shared vision is a tailored module gave Manushuo-Uthan a firm grip to remain afloat in the socioeconomic transformation pursuit.

Achievement of Year under report is laudable, indeed. The widest range of people empowerment effort speaks volumes. Few among many are Out Bound Training workshop which separates Manushuo-Uthan from rest of the lot is post debrief. Dealing with Newly inducted Management Trainees and addressing issues like Personality Development in context to NTPC was tough task. Another areas of people development initiative for similar batches as young as 23 years to 27 Years joining Organisation after competing with all India examination related with Neuro linguistic Programming (NLP) to conceptual intervention related with creative pursuits for Organizational

Survivor on “Uncontrolled revenue generation initiatives” are achievements par excellence.

What is appreciated, most is Manushuo-Uthan Aims and Object in dealing with subjects like functional intricacies, technical domain knowledge improvements, productivity enhancement initiatives, increasing Organizational efficiency, Plant Load factors speaks volumes of standards it maintains and bench mark it sets for others to follow.

Despite great intention to work for street children, women empowerment and address similar social Society need, it failed to muster support of like minded personnel to raise requisite resources. With unprecedented road blocks, Manushuo-Uthan continued shifting focus from such operational area necessarily requires external support to focus on Indian Corporate World, yet another pillar of Indian Economy bleeding for the want of Sustainable human development initiatives. Manushuo-Uthan commenced human developmental initiatives in Largest Indian Power Producer giant, to whom Government of India conferred Navratna Status, feelingly called as Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) namely M/s NTPC Ltd. Having been approached, Manushuo-Uthan tailored approach to address specific module for newly inducted employees like Executive Trainees. Manushuo-Uthan Out Bound Programs are researched based, much beyond the creating ‘feel good factor’ and are in organizational context. It also steered structured NLP workshops. Both OBT and NLP were rolled out, to start with, at half a dozen location of NTPC spread over Indian subcontinent. A tailored signature flagship workshop captioned “Leadership Orientation through Organizational Belongingness Process” was carved out for NTPC collective. Manushuo-Uthan also initiated Management Development interventions for newly carved out State Utilities. In a modest way it made interventions at (1) Rajasthan Power Utilities, (2) Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board and (3) Punjab State Electricity Board. The three utilities being NTPC valued customer, hence NTPC played Organizer’s role.

Manushuo-Uthan was approached if it could venture in upgrading people skill and provide attitudinal empowerment. It seized the opportunity to convene tailor made programs for NHPC a Hydro Power Sector Giant. It organized four workshops captioned “Competing with Self: Achievement Motivation”, “Beyond the Boundary: Competing with Self”, “Beyond the Horizon: People’s Perspective” and “Building NHPC: Through KRAs” at six different locations in the year under report.

In Order to introduce a culture of “Guru-Shisha” culture, THDC India Ltd, A Mini Ratna Category Power Utilities joint venture approached if Manushuo-Uthan could assist in creating an environment of “Mentoring, Coaching, Guiding & Hand Holding”. Armed with concept, Manushuo-Uthan launched the said workshop at Rishikesh in addition to normal calendar workshop it was steering. Year under report saw a trend of “building trust” when THDC approached to empower Motor Vehicle Operators and if shared vision concept can be spread in each of them. Manushuo-Uthan operational boundary was stretched beyond corporate canvas when it spread activities at State Power Sector Utilities. It started its
