Excellence in our Home and YoursDear Friends,
It is hard to believe that we have been living and working at The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Campus on Park Avenue for two full years now, as we continue to strive to meet the needs of our Jewish Senior Services’ Residents, clients, families, volunteers and staff. We are privileged to serve more people each year, and Fiscal Year 2018 certainly brought us closer to our mission to assure seniors the health care, housing and geriatric services required to achieve the highest possible quality of life reasonably attainable for them.
This Annual Report reflects upon the many accomplishments we achieved this year, but more importantly the people who make this possible. Our workforce is the heart and soul of our organization – approximately 900 people that dedicate themselves to caring for our loved ones. 250 have been working at Jewish Senior Services for over 10 years! We try to recognize our staff throughout the year, and on pages 12 and 13, you can see some of the awards that were given for outstanding performance and service in 2018.
We are always grateful to our donor community, and to the leadership of our Board of Directors, Women’s Auxiliary and Men’s Club. There are many events throughout the year, and countless opportunities to participate and support our work. Funding from the governmental payers does not meet the cost of our excellent care, and we are only able to achieve the level of service that we all expect of each other through your generous support. There are still ways to participate in The Journey to Home Capital Campaign, event and Annual Campaign support, and anything that resonates with your connection to our community.
As we look forward to the coming year, we know that there is still much more to do. We continue to grow our Home Care and Community Services programs (see full list of services on the following page). As the demographics of our community continues to age, more and more people are in need of our Rehabilitation services. There is an oppor-tunity for us to develop Independent Living that we are actively pursuing in Fairfield, which we hope will be another offering to those who would want to live in a vibrant senior community.
Our mission drives all that we do, and we continue to strive to be the best possible resource for those that we are privileged to serve.
Thank you.
