s I look back over this year, one of the highlights for me is seeing the movement of CGR, especially the

number of volunteers catching the vision to “Live with A purpose.” It’s inspiring seeing volunteers who joined CGR to help provide relief to Fort McMurray residents, to volunteer teams having a “vAcAtion with A purpose” traveling to Greece to engage Refugees first-hand, while others are raising funds for Cuba in the wake of Hurricane Matthew!

Not only did the volunteers go and get involved, but they’ve caught the vision themselves! They are telling their own stories of the refugees, individuals and families they met in person. And they are working towards sponsoring vetted cases of refugee families to resettle in Canada.

Thank you for your generous giving to enable CGR to touch the lives of many in Canada and around the world!

Looking ahead, we need to continue this momentum. The refugee situation is overwhelming, and it is not going away! We cannot turn a blind eye, thinking it’s not our problem. Whether we like it or not, refugees are in our backyard, and more will come. It’s up to us to make a difference!

We’re excited to offer you new and continuing ways to show love in action! Specifically in 2017, we’d like to train more Canadian volunteers. Get in touch with us for volunteer and training opportunities, to refugee sponsorship at home and children programs abroad.

We’re also planning to actively help Cubans rebuild after Hurricane Matthew, in addition to a Venezuelan project. Our Chad water well project is scheduled to continue, and there’s also opportunity to join one of three teams headed to Athens, Greece to work with refugees.

Looking to help overseas? With your skills join us as we plan volunteer humanitarian and disaster relief trips to assist Canadians and people in Greece, Iraq, and Cuba. Volunteer positions such as coordinating volunteers, grant writing, and social media are also available.
