To achieve the motto of “Where Aspiration Meets Opportunity” the curriculum has been

focuses on strong fundamentals and rich analytical techniques, and also emphasizes on broad

based multidisciplinary approach and co-operative work integrated education based on vibrant

industry partnerships. This industry-oriented curriculum enables the student to function more

effectively not only in the chosen field but also prepares them for adapting to constantly

changing circumstances, confronting new facts, finding innovative ways to encounter and solve

new and unexpected problems. Goal oriented and time bound research at Sangam gearedfor

effective driver of scientific discovery in addition to the emergence of economically relevant

new technologies based on system changing solutions.

THE JOURNEY OF SANGAM UNIVERSITY, BHILWARA

Sangam University, Bhilwara is established by an Act passed by Rajasthan Legislation Assembly

vide Act No. 14 of 2012 dated 02/05/212. The University is permitted to offer various courses in

the discipline of Engineering & Technology, Management Studies, Leal Studies, Pharmacy,

Nursing, Applied Sciences, Food Processing, Agricultural Sciences, Media & Mass

Communication, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Architecture etc.

In the midst of rivers like Banas, Kothari, Khari, Menali, Berach,and Mansi lies a small city

named ‘Bhilwara’ which is known as the‘Textile Hub’, where several small scale and large-scale

industries are settled down. In this textile city, there’s a feather in the cap ‘Sangam’. The word

“SANGAM” means getting together and togetherness substitute’s unity. To uphold this unity

Sangam University has been established by BadrilalSoni Charitable Trust and Promoted by

Sangam Group of Industries with the mission to make world-class higher education affordable

and assessable to all sections of society. The vision of university is to become center of

excellence for the holistic development and global education of the students by cultivating and

nurturing young minds into global leaders of the future. University tries to provide a

professional environment along with the moral and human values to the students. We are

committed to offeringan educational milieu which is tuned to the needs of global markets.

The university finds its roots in Institute of Technology and Management – ITM Bhilwara which

was established in the year 2003 under the aegis of Badrilal Soni Charitable Trust and

supported by Sangam Group of Industries a name to reckon with in Textiles and diversified into

steel, infrastructure and power sectors with an annual turnover of Rs. 5000 Crores. Propelled by

the motto “Where Aspiration Meets Opportunity”, Sangam University strongly believes in the

mission of generating Tomorrow’s Leaders Today by an educational process with a vision to

take up challenges across the globe.

Throughout years, efforts are on to strengthen the academic core of various programs as well

as deepening the feel-good factor which not only supports and complements the academic

program but also provides personal growth and development.

Sangam University supports the students coming from rural background and ethnic minorities. Our

intake statistics and steady application clearly show that we are doing enough to encourage

students from economically weaker and underprivileged sections of the society to apply for a place

in the university. We want talented minority students, who are deprived of standard education to

come to achieve their dreams at Sangam University. As a responsible institution we feel strongly

that we need to sustain and expand access across the socio-economic spectrum. This is a critical

part of our commitment ensuring that financial contraries do not prevent qualified students from

getting university education.

Sangam University maintained a steady momentum with community connect initiatives

through Career counseling for various school students, Swaach Bharat Abhiyan, Digital India

Computer Awareness Quiz for School children, Vivekananda Kendra Quiz, Team India ICC World

Cup Cheer Campaign, joining hands with HDFC bank for blood donation, joining hands with

Lions Club for eye donation etc. Sangam University hosted Leadership in Education sessions for

Rajasthan Govt School Principals and Improving Effectiveness in Teaching for Rajasthan Govt

School Science Teachers. Under the Alumni Alma mater connect a passion quotient annual

meet was organized and throughout the year a steady stream of alumni visited the campus.

Reaching towards higher grounds Sangam University offered foreign internships to Twinkle

Billu, and Antima Sharma of MCA batch. Sangam University has several feathers in the cap since

inception and still has to achieve several milestones.

However, in all programme designs and delivery system, effort has been to match with the

international standards alongwith unique emphasis on value-based education with constant

innovating pedagogy, student support system based on strong industry linkage and technology

INFRASTRUCTURE FACILITIES

Sangam University has set the standards in academic and Technical education and has become a

benchmark institution in its category in the country. Towards this the University has taken every

required step to develop the finest infrastructure, ranging from state-of-art classrooms,

laboratories, libraries, sports facilities, gymnasium, transport facilities, hostels and residential

quarters.

At present, the University has more than 44 laboratories of various streams i.e. Civil, Mechanical,

Electronics, Electrical, Computer, Communication lab, Agriculture, Basic & Applied Sciences,

Vocational Studies labs etc. All laboratories are fully equipped with latest international standard

machines and tools.

The University provides additional facilities to students with Auditorium facility and multimedia

facilities.

Nine fully equipped Smart Classes are operational in the University in which images can be

displayed on the screen in bright environment. Besides, the screen is semi-transparent by which

the impact on spacing sensibility is lesser. Technically, the board is made of special materials by

which images can be captured and shown on the screen.

The University has implemented ERP for complete campus management for students, parents, staff

members.

LIBRARY

The University has an excellent library of more than 50,000 books, 32 Online, 20 offline

periodicals& journals (both National & International), 9 magazines, Audio & Video cassettes and CD

ROMs for ready reference. New additions of books are added regularly. The library of the

University also has Wi-Fi connectivity &Digital Library facility. A vast library of digital contents is

available on topics related to Technology and soft-skills. The library is facilitating with all leading

newspapers and magazines to students, faculty and staff members. Library equipped with Lib-Sys

software and bar coding system.

Hostels

Sangam University offers a comfortable and wonderful residential facility to the students. There

are separate hostels for girls and boys, carefully designed and planned with 24/7 security.

Students can choose from single, double and triple occupancy rooms. It includes three

nutritiously balanced vegetarian meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) with hi-tea in the evening.

Hostels are well equipped with modern kitchens serving vegetarian food. Our campus life brings

you great experience in making friends and undertaking social responsibilities together.

The students find home away from home, where they can be safe, comfortable and spend

some of their most memorable years. Along with a great academic ambience, also a lifestyle

gives you some friendships to cherish over a lifetime!

Girls’ Hostel Boys’ Hostel

Students will get all daily amenities in close proximity. The right blend between fun and

discipline, bonds of a lifetime start from here. They can create unforgettable memories while

learning and taking part in different activities together.

Sports Complex

Sports play an important role to enhance culture, visibility and brand recognition of a

university, both inside the campus and outside the university gates. At Sangam University, the

sports club brings students together, fostering a great team spirit. The sports club is an apt

reflection of our identity as one of the best universities in Rajasthan. Students participate in

inter collegiate, inter university and state level tournaments enthusiastically. Other than this,

the hostel has a gymnasium that has treadmills and latest body building equipment so that

students can stay fit and healthy.

The University has generous facilities for sports enthusiasts as well. Outdoor sports facilities are

available for games like Volleyball, Cricket, Football, Athletics, Tennis, Jogging Track etc. Facilities

for indoor games like Badminton, Table Tennis, Chess etc. have also been provided to students and

faculty members.

The students and faculty members are also encouraged to participate in yoga and meditation

classes for their physical and spiritual enrichment.

ACTIVITIES IN SESSION 2019-20

Following activities were organized during session 2019-20 :

SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES :

8th August-11th August,2019- Orientation Programme

An eventful Orientation Programme was organised from 8th August to 11th August, 2019 to

groom the students for challenging academic assignments and orient them with the nuances of

modern corporate world. A series of lectures were delivered to students giving them glimpses

of the challenging areas of management and how students should focus on learning skills so

that they can make a successful beginning in today’s highly competitive and ever-changing

world of business. The Induction Programme began with the welcome address. The students

were welcomed to the SOMS family and familiarized them with the infrastructure, the faculty

and the pedagogy adopted for making them successful managers for tomorrow. They also

talked about the theory and practice being seamlessly woven together for overall personality

development of the budding managers.

15th September 2019- Fresher’s Party-MBA

“Fresher’s Party” is an event which every student eagerly awaits for. On 15th September, 2019

the senior students of MBA programme have organized a welcome party for the freshers. The

fresher’s day was filled with excitement, joy, music, enthusiasm, laughter and happiness. The

dress code for the fresher’s day was “dress your best”. The programme was started with the

blessings of Maa Saraswati lamp lightening by the Dignitaries. Followed by this the welcome

speech was given and the freshers were formally welcomed into the Sangam Family, the jury

and other guests of honors were also introduced. Events started with some dances and games.

After this all the other participants of this great evening came up with their unique ramp walk in

pairs. All of them enjoyed a lot.

16th September, 2019 - Fresher’s Party-BBA

Continuing with the proud tradition of the university, senior students and newcomers of the

college mingled with each other at the fresher’s welcome party held on 16th September, 2019

in the university campus. It was a fun filled event at which the fresher’s got an opportunity not

only to showcase their talents and but also to interact with the seniors. The program kick-

started with Games like one minute show, etc. Cultural program was also arranged. The contest

included several rounds involving singing, dancing, talent display and ramp walk which wove

the magic of fun and joy in to the event. Finally, the program ended, leaving behind sweet

memories that will be cherished lifelong.

17th September, 2019- Campus Placement (Universal Hunt)

Campus placement of MBA & BBA students was organized by School of Management Studies

and Training & Placement Department. Universal Hunt- Ahmedabad Based Recruitment firm

visited campus. The recruitment process was started with the presentation of Mr. Nikhil Matai.

He talked the various recruitment strategies and also talked about the growth prospects as a

recruiter. Then he started with the interview process.

26th-28th September, 2019- EAC Camp (Phase I)

A three day Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp was organized by our B-School facilitated by

different expert speakers on the topics of business opportunities, mechanisms of product

selection, technology assistance, starting SSI units, schemes assistance, creativity and business

and communications skills. Also students taken for the industries to observe the realities and

experience sharing.

6th November, 2019- Guest lecture on IPR and Foreign Exchange Market

Dr. Pallavi Mehta was invited to deliver a session on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and

Foreign Exchange Market. She discussed on different aspects of Intellectual Properties like

What is a Patent, Patent Rights, Trademarks, Industrial Design, Geographical Indication, IC

Layout (Semiconductor, Trade Secret, Copyright, Protection of plant verities, Farmers’ Rights

and Researchers’ Rights. She concluded the talk by explaining the rationale of protection and

the nature of IPR. She emphasized that IPR have to be renewed from time to time for keeping

them enforced except in case of copyright and trade secrets.

26th November, 2019 -Workshop on Share Market

A seminar on ‘Importance of Share Market’ was organised, for SOMS Students on 26th

November, 2019. The seminar was conducted by Mr. Saurabh Sancheti. He addressed the

gathering of students while emphasizing on the importance of capital market for investors. The

objective of the seminar was to give the exposure and understanding of share market

operations to the students. The theme of the seminar covered importance of capital market,

equity instruments, career in equity research, trading in equity market. He imparted knowledge

of secondary market and its operations. The session was concluded with vote of thanks.

23rd -24th December, 2019 – International Workshop on Changing Contours of Human

Resource Management

Mr. Rajendra Inda- An International Corporate HR conducted a workshop on Changing shifts of

Human Resource Management practices. Mr. Inda taught students about the differences in

national and international HR practices. He talked about the various tactics of adopting HR

practices adopted across cultures in organizations.

9th January, 2020- Guest Lecture by Prof. Akhilesh Kumar

Prof. Akilesh Kumar addressed the students of MBA and BBA on 9 th January, 2020. He laid

emphasis on aligning research with theoretical knowledge. He also talked about how to manage

class learnings. He discussed the contemporary issues in the field of management and also told

about the new avenues of jobs.

11th January, 2020- Management Quiz (Round 1)

An inter departmental Quiz competition was organized on 11 January, 2020 for all students of

B- schools. Dr. Jyoti Dashora and Dr. Asif Perwej Organized the event. The first round of quiz

was organized which includes pen and paper test. Students enhanced their general awareness

and knowledge and various topics.

17th January, 2020- Expert Lecture from Industry

On 17 January, Mr. S. N. Modani MD, CEO of Sangam Group took a session of MBA students on

Managing People and about Different Leadership Styles. He told students about how one can

be a good leader and by adopting leadership styles an overall good and healthy working

environment can be created.

18th January, 2020- Management Quiz (Round 2)

An inter departmental Quiz competition was organized on 11 January, 2020 for all students of B

schools. Dr. Jyoti Dashora and Dr. Asif Perwej Organized the event. The second round of quiz

was organized which included questions related to the names of the CEO’s, brands, Logos, Tag

lines and audio and video clips.

23rd January, 2020- Expert Lecture from Academia

On 23 January, a seminar on Gender discrimination was organized. Dr. Richa Singhal and Dr.

Rita Jain make students aware about gender discrimination. They discussed that even today in

many rural areas still such practices are been followed.

25th January, 2020- Debate Competition

A Debate competition on- Taxation good or bad and Electronic gadgets are to be used in class

or not was organized on 25 January, 2020. Winners of the event were- I position was achieved

by Ruchi Chopra from MBA II semester, II position was achieved by Vaishali Sharma from MBA II

semester and Sakshi Kogta from BBA I semester and third position was achieved by Ravi Jain

BBA IV semester and Avi Jain from BBA VI semester.

15th February, 2020- Ad Mad Show An 'Ad-Mad' competition was organized for the students of SOMS on 15th February, 2019. The activity aimed at

helping the students to learn the art of enacting an advertisement and acquainting themselves with the

promotional strategies used in marketing a specific product. The students participated with a lot of enthusiasm.

The competition helped the students enhance their skills in expressions, voice modulation and dialogue delivery.

Most of the students came up with unique ideas and well-written scripts of the advertisements. It was an excellent

learning experience.

22nd February, 2020- Group Discussion

A Group discussion activity was organized for the students of BBA & MBA on 22nd February,

2020. Group Discussion opens avenues to students to learn more. Students come across new

facts

about the topic. Students have different approach to learn and different methods of learning.

Sometime students have some difficulties in learning a topic, when we discuss it; it become

easier for our student to understand the topic with clarity.

29th February, 2020- Seminar on Indian Economy School of Management Studies, Sangam University organized a day long seminar, critically examining various

aspects and undercurrents of the Indian Economy, on 29th February, 2020. The seminar was conducted to

understand the problems facing the Indian economy, and to develop a consistent set of policies to ensure stable

long-term policies on the right of centre.

2nd March, 2020- Expert Session on Budget

On 8th March Union Budget Discussion Activity was organized by school of Management

Studies. The program was started with welcome of the guests of the event. The chief guest of

the event was CA Naveen Kogta, CA Dinesh Suthar, CA Piresh Kumar Jain, CA Sonesh Kabra & CA

Rameshwar Lal Birla. The guest of the event had a panel discussion with the students of SOMS

where they focused on the key highlights of the budget and its importance.

3rd March, 2020- Student Participation in Inter College Fest

Students of School of Mangement Studies, Sangam University has participated in Intercollege

fest at Udaipur where seventeen universities have participated and stood first in ‘Corporate

Roadies’ event. The winners of the event are Prince Soni, Parth Tak, Meenakshi, Varsha Soni,

Komal Vyas, Ayushi Bhadada, Ayush Soni and Aashish Vagrecha.

10th June, 2020- Webinar on Challenges & Opportunities for Indian Corporate Post COVID-19

Pandemic

A webinar was organized on Challenges & Opportunities for Indian Corportaes during COVID-19

Pandemic. The guest of the event was Mr. Gaurav Chaudhary and Mr. Naresh Baldi. The guests

spoke about the disruptions incurred in supply chain because of COVID pandemic and the

challenges faced by the Indian corporates.

18th June, 2020- Panel Discussion on Achieving Excellence in Higher Education for

Sustainability

Prof. (Dr.) Ramesh Sharda, Vice-Dean-Watson Business School, Oklahoma State University, USA

delivered a talk on “Achieving Excellence in Higher Education for Sustainability” to the students

of MBA and BBA programme. He also addressed about sustainability challenges, paradigms and

structure of higher education.

session on "How to conquer professional interviews?" was organized by T&P Cell at Sangam

University campus. Dr. Abhilash Modi was the key speaker for the session. Dr. Modi's session

30th September 2019 - Online Convention on Digital Marketing & Statistical Approach.

An Online Convention on Digital Marketing & Statistical Approach hosted by Sangam University

on 30th September 2019. The initiative was taken up by Computer Society of India under

computer science and engineering dept. in the university to enhance the skills of students in

core digital marketing and statistical approach subjects. The convention lectures were delivered

by Mr. Debajyoti Banerjee, Founder, 7Boats.com and organized by Mr. Kuntal Barua followed

by Dr. Sunil Kumar. He transmitted his knowledge using smart classroom technology through

internet. All Faculty members attended live lectures, tutorials and lab sessions and were

immensely benefited by them. Students of B.Tech Computer Science, BCA and MCA attended

this convention. The convention provided training to participants on learning pedagogy to make

Sangam university organized a one day workshop on “Cloud Computing and ethical hacking” on

and the chief guest was Mr. Suresh Samar, Assistant Drug Controller, Government of Rajasthan. He

delivered a lecture on crucial role of the pharmacists in improving medicine use and reducing

medication errors in order to safeguard patient’s safety.

School of Basic & Applied Sciences organized Orientation Program on 1-2 August 2019 for M.

Seminar on Mind Power for newly admitted students of SOBAS was organized on 2 August

12th August 2019 - National Remote Sensing Day celebration:

Department of Geo Informatics celebrated National Remote Sensing day in honor of Prof.

Vikram Sarabhai's birthday, an Indian scientist and innovator, widely regarded as the father of

India's space program. Alumni get together was also arranged for M.Sc. Geo-informatics

students.

Networking Essentials for the students of Computer Science Department. Mr. Alphesh

took the sessions which was mainly focused on networking terminologies and tools. Total

3. Foreign Language: Foreign Language classes have been started as an open option for the

students of BBA/MBA. Mr. Mukesh Sharma, Trainer is taking 1 hour’s session for 2 days of

every week.

4. Mr. R.K Yadav (Chief Project Director, IRES) will be delivering a talk on the topic " Design,

Manufacturing and Operation of Metro Rail Services" on 28th Sept, 2020 (Saturday). Mr.

Yadav has served Indian Railways as Division Railway Manager, Indian Metro Rail

Corporation as General Manager. He is Alumnus of IIT Roorkee and IIT Delhi

5. Industry Visit: Industry visit to Fabstone, Aravali Marbles, Javaja was held for the students

of B.Tech. Mining & Diploma Mining on 5th October 2019.

6. An expert interaction was organized by T&P Cell for the students of School of Basic &

Applied Science on topic “Shape your attitude-tips for personality development”. Speaker

Mr. Ashlesh Dashora is a renowned speaker in southern Rajasthan. Total 62 students

attended this program. Mr. Dashora asked students to focus on present situation rather

than worrying about past events. He said if you can wish, you can change the word. (13th

November 2019)

7. An expert interaction was organized by T&P Cell for the students of School of Agriculture

& Technology Sciences on topic “Communication for a better career prospective” on 14th

November 19. Guest of session Ms. Shalini Dixit is a highly motivated personality with

interest in student counseling. She guided students about basic requirements of

communication skills in their career shaping.

8. A consumer awareness campaign was hosted by Sangam University for spreading

awareness of Swach Bharat Abhiyan through campaign of Bhilwara Zila Dugh Utpadak

Sangh, Bhilwara. T&P Cell organized this campaign to give exposure of Dairy Products,

Dairy Plant Functioning, and Career in Dairy Field etc. Dr. Chobey along with their team

from Bhilwara dairy organized a quiz and showed few motivating videos.

9. Alumni Association of Sangam University meeting was held on 13th November 19. Agenda

of meeting was to form a collaborative approach toward betterment of Alumni

Association. 10 core members were present and President, SU addressed them about

university alumni relationship and its benefits. Secretary Anurag Sharma explained about

registration process of alumni association and further discussed about upcoming

programs of AASU.

10. A session on Stock Exchange Awareness and queries was conducted by T&P cell for

students of School of Management Studies on 26th November 2019. Guest speaker Mr.

Saurabh Sancheti interacted with students and answered their queries. Total 76 students

attended this session along with faculties of SOMs.

11. Industry Visit: An industrial visit is organized for the students of SOMs to JK cement

Nimbahera. Visit was planned to give greater clarity about important management

concepts, as students practically experience how these concepts are put into action.

12. A workshop is conducted on “Changing contour of Human Resource Management” for the

students of School of Management Studies in collaboration with SOMs on 23rd and 24th

December 2019. Key speaker was Mr. Rajendra Singh, HR Professional with 15+ years of

experience in HR.

13. An expert interaction session is organized for the students of M.Sc./B.Sc. on 23rd January

on “Personality Speaks”. Key speaker of the session was Dr. Preeti Gupta who is an expert

15. A historical visit to Chittorgarh Fort is organized for the students of BA as a part of their

curriculum on 25th January 20. Dr. Nidhi Bhatnagar coordinated this visit and students

were given exposure to the history of fort.

16. An Alumni interaction was organized for the students of SOMs on 5th Feb 2020. Mr.

Manish Kumawat who is currently working with Amazon Inc. USA interacted with students

and shared his valuable experiences with students.

17. An Alumni interaction was organized for the students of B.Tech. CS and BCA on 8th Feb

2020. Mr. Imran is a first generation entrepreneur and a socially active management cum

engineering professional. He shared his experiences with students and asked them to be

involved in all activities nearby for their overall development.

18. An online webinar is organized viz. “Challenges and opportunities for Indian corporate

post-COVID-19 pandemic” for the students of School of Management Studies. Mr. Gaurav
