L-R Captains Jessica M and Victor S, Vice Captains Harry W and Maya T Last Day – Wednesday 16 December With just over a week to go, we are almost at the end of the school year. At this time of year we would like to thank you for your support of our students and school this year. We hope you all have a restful holiday and return safely on Thursday 28 January (Years 1-6) and Monday 1 February (Kindergarten). A reminder that all students will go back into their “old” classes for a couple of days. This allows us to take into consideration any student changes that occur over the holidays, before going into our final 2016 classes. Best Wishes

PHPS Colour Fun Run & Walk-a-thon
A HUGE congratulations and thank you everyone who participated in the Colour Fun Run & Walk-a-thon. Also, thanks to everyone who contributed by helping out and donating! We have raised $4801.00 for our school. This is an absolutely fantastic effort!!! On behalf of the SRC, thank you very much! Mr Swan (SRC Teacher Representative)
Uniform Shop News Uniform shop will be opening on Friday morning this week, instead of Thursday. If you want to buy some items of uniform for the start of next year, but can’t get in this Friday, you can ring me on 0414256172 and I can leave your uniform items at the Front Office for you. Thanks to everyone who has donated clothing to the uniform shop during the year – it’s very much appreciated. At present we have plenty of good quality (as new) girls’ summer dresses (esp. size 6) at the very reasonable price of $15 each. Perhaps you need a spare as a back-up in case of accidents? Don’t forget, I can also fix zippers, so now is a good time to check if you have any jackets or dresses which need zippers replaced. I’ll fix them over the Christmas holidays and have them ready for Jan 27 (Day 1, 2016) for the very reasonable price of $15.
Please keep the donations of outgrown uniform coming – we are particularly in need of boys’ short sleeved shirts. So if your son has a big growth spurt over the holidays, just parcel up his old shirts and send them in!
My best wishes to everyone for a wonderful Christmas

NSW Schools Eco Grant
We received $2,500 through NSW schools Eco grant for 2015.
The school children have enjoyed planting local species on the cubby slope, to help stop erosion. They also helped mulch the area. We are fortunate to have left-over funds that will go towards planter boxes for growing vegetable gardens in 2016.
Each stage will have their own garden space to plant out and will enjoy some great outdoor education time. I would like to thank Emma Rooksby from the Mount Pleasant bush care group for all her time and help with this school grant. Emma and members of Bushcare have volunteered many hours helping prepare the site near the cubby as well as maintain and water the new plantings. Many thanks to Emma for her ongoing support and work around are school grounds and our adjoining reserve. Thanks Kerry Neubecker

2015 SRC – Thank you! Mr Swan and Miss King would like to thank the 2015 SRC for all their hard work and dedication this year! It has been a pleasure serving as your teacher representatives and we are both very proud of all that the SRC has achieved this year!
It was great to represent my school this year as school captain and to have my say in some important events at the school. I was also proud to
talk in front of assemblies and greet guests to the school. Angus C (Captain)
I have enjoyed every minute of representing my school as vice captain. Because it was fun making the school an even greater place then it
already is. Leila C (Vice Captain)
Being in the SRC this year made me feel like I had an important role in the school. This year’s SRC was really fun and I loved all the fundraisers
and activities we got to do like the Colour Run. Ben S (Year 6 SRC)
I loved being on the SRC because I got to help the school out. I also loved being on the SRC because I got to be a leader. I would be
honoured to be on the SRC again. Harry W (Year 5 SRC)
It has been great representing my school in SRC. We got to organise fund raising events and also helped with the setting up of fun activities like the colour run! PHPS is a great school and I love being a part of it.
Cameron M (Year 4 SRC)
It was really good to be in the SRC and represent Year Two. I really liked helping with fundraising to help others and the school. It was lots of fun
and I hope I can do it again one day. Oliver M (Year 2 SRC)
I had lots of great fun throughout these past 4 terms being a house captain. I would like to say good luck to future house captains. Go
Bourke!” Bailey G (Bourke House Captain)
I have enjoyed being House Captain of Phillip with my fellow captain Alex because I feel it to be an honour to leave this school known as one of the House Captains of PHPS. I have enjoyed cheering on my classmates and other wonderful people who attend PHPS at carnivals. Most of all, I have loved helping to organise activities for kids to enjoy, my favourite being
the Colour Fun Run. Lucy J (Phillip House Captain)
This year it was great being in SRC you get to do all this great stuff for your school like fundraisers and fun things. Alex C (Phillip House
Captain)
It has been such a great year being a house captain of hunter. I enjoyed every step of the way, and always wore my badge with pride because it made me happy. I loved the meetings and making posters for athletics
carnivals and swimming carnivals. I wish I could do it all again. Amelia B (Hunter House Captain)
It was a true honour to represent and lead our school in sports carnivals and activities. Just being in an awesome and caring sport house was a
privilege but to be a captain of that awesome house was amazing. All the people in Macquarie were amazing and glad to have new sport captains to listen to and to hopefully lead them to VICTORY!!! GO MACQUARIE
and thanks forgiving me this opportunity to be a House Captain. Taylor C (Macquarie House Captain)
