Congratulations to all who contested the club championships. It was disappointing that events could not be conducted in the Under 10 and Under 16 age groups due to

lack of entries, also the Under 12 Boys/Girls doubles.

Club championships give the players an opportunity to contest events under tourna-

ment conditions instead of the Saturday competition format and to pit their skills against players of their own age. It also gives competition selectors the opportunity

to evaluate a players ability on their own merits.

Parents are requested to encourage their children to contest these events each year.

Your Junior Committee puts in a lot of effort to give valuable guidance to your chil-dren, and your co-operation is appreciated.

The Committee is indebted to those parents who help out every Saturday morning , both on court and in the canteen, without your assistance competition would not happen and your children would be deprived of the experience.
