EARTH DAY
was first commenced in April 22, 1970 with
United States Senator Gaylord
Nelson as the founder of the
event.
It is celebrated annually in more
than 175 countries every
22nd day of April.
It aims to inspire awareness &
appreciation for the Earth's
natural environment.

1972
It aspires to be the vehicle to stimulate
worldwide awareness on the
environment
And enhances political attention & public action.

widely celebrated, global day for
positive, environmental

Clean up the World
is a community based environmental campaign that inspires and
empowers communities from every corner of the globe to clean up, fix up and conserve their
environment.
Since the first Clean Up the World campaign in 1993
This campaign brings together businesses, community groups, schools,
governments and individuals
In a range of activities and programs that positively improve local environments.
Now in its 18th year, Clean Up the World,
mobilizes an estimated 35 million volunteers from 120 countries
annually
Making it one of the largest community-based
environmental campaigns in the world.
With the cooperation of the European Wind Energy
Association (EWEA) and the Global Wind Energy Council
(GWEC), the GLOBAL WIND DAY was formed on June 15, 2009.
It is an awareness campaign for the promotion of
wind energy worldwide.
It’s aim is to send out this message …
“ wind energy tackles climate change, it boosts
energy independence and it is an intelligent
investment. "
Earth Hour
started in 2007 in
Sydney, Australia
when 2.2 million
individuals and
more than 2,000
businesses turned
their lights off for
ONE HOUR
to take a stand
against
CLIMATE CHANGE.
Earth Hour
2010
became the
biggest Earth
Hour ever.
A record
128 countries
and territories
joined the
global display
of climate
action.
