Living Life Post Cancer Treatment ProgramThe Living Life Post Cancer Treatment Program was created by Our Clubhouse and received the Oncology Nursing Society Seal of Approval. This program supports adults who have completed cancer treatment within the last 2 years. The 9 week program helps bridge the gap between cancer treatment and life following cancer. This fiscal year the Living Life Post Cancer Treatment Program was presented 8 times in 7 different locations. The Program was offered at the following locations; Our Clubhouse Allegheny, Our Clubhouse Westmoreland, Jewish Community Center – South Hills, UPMC Passavant Hospital, Carnegie Library Brookline location, UPMC East and Forbes Hospital. Our Clubhouse collaborated with UPMC, AHN, Excela Health and St. Clair Hospital to offer the program in community settings.

Our Clubhouse WestmorelandOur Clubhouse Westmoreland opened in September 2015. Membership and awareness continue to increase. Various programs have been offered to help support those living with and touched by cancer. Some of these programs are the Living with Cancer Support Group, Healthy Snacks Cooking Demonstration, Bereavement Support Group, Valentine’s Dinner Celebration, Master Gardening Lecture and Canvas Collage Art Workshop. 2015/2016 Highlights

Our Clubhouse Westmoreland continues to develop and expand community relationships within Westmoreland County. Excela Health, Arnold Palmer Pavilion, and The American Cancer Society work with Our Clubhouse to help spread awareness about the mission of the program and collabo-rate in offering their services when appropriate. This summer Our Clubhouse was asked by The Old Joe Club Charities to attend the Westmoreland Croquet Club Tournament as one of the 6 non-profit organizations. We had an opportunity to share our mission with over 2,000 people who attended the event. Our Clubhouse is a member of the Westmoreland County and Greater Latrobe-Laurel Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Dear Friends of Our Clubhouse:

As is typical with every organization, the past year was filled with many rewards and challenges. This past year marked our 10th anniversary since we opened our doors (originally as Gilda’s Club Western PA). In those ten years over 2,500 people – our family and friends – have become members of Our Clubhouse, some who laughed in the face of cancer and others whom we have lost and miss dearly. We held several successful fundraising events and expanded our footprint in Westmoreland County. Our Living Life Post Cancer Treatment workshop has grown substantially, helping people with the transition from cancer treatment to post-treatment. These are just a few of our many accomplishments.

This was also a year of transition as our long-time Executive Director Carol Lennon retired and Teddi Horvitz stepped into her giant shoes. Some staff moved on to other ventures and new employees started. Dedicated board members rolled off and new ones were welcomed. After much change, Our Clubhouse is on solid footing and the future looks bright. Our energies are focused on strategic planning and redefining our financial model to ensure long-term sustainability.

Our Clubhouse exists on a small budget which means we have limited dollars available for

advertising. Without advertising it’s difficult to increase awareness. Without awareness, those touched by cancer can’t get the critical emotional and social support they need when dealing with a cancer diagnosis. Without support, people are often left to face cancer alone and deal with a myriad of issues including depression and anxiety.

Most of you already know somebody impacted by a cancer diagnosis. If you don’t yet, odds are you will in your lifetime. Our request to you is to tell them about the free support services Our Clubhouse provides like yoga and Pilates, nutrition workshops, educational lectures about the latest technologies or medical breakthroughs, art programs, our Family and Youth program and so many more.

In this report, you’ll see the names of our very generous and loyal donors. We thank them from the bottom of our hearts. Our Clubhouse would not exist without them. If you haven’t made a donation in the past, we hope you will consider making one in the future. But first and foremost, please pass along our mis-sion – to provide a welcoming community of support to anybody touched by cancer - to all of those you know facing this disease.
