When Mel Hensey, P.E., died in June of 2012 we lost one of our most faithful supporters. This scholarship is being established to honor Mel Hensey, a UC Civil Engineering Advisory Board member, for his many years of leadership, positive outlook and giving attitude. Hensey helped the UC Civil Engineering program on so many levels, including strategic planning, leadership mentoring, many guest lectures — and for just being Mel Hensey.

Through the MEL HENSEY LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP for undergraduate students in UC’s Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Management we hope to be able to assist students for years to come. Our goal is to raise the $50,000 required to endow the scholarship and allow us to make the first award.

This is an opportunity for you to support UC and the College of Engineering and Applied Science with a gift that will honor Mel Hensey and support one of our major initiatives for college-endowed scholarships for undergraduate students.
