ANNOUNCEMENTS Guests and Members: A Nursery & a Cry Room are located in the upper north pod, if a need arises. Children's Activity Boards (to help little ones during the service) are provided in a bin next to the south Sanctuary doors. Large print bulletins and hearing devices are available please ask one of the ushers for assistance. Please sign the red Attendance Book found in the pew so we can have a record of your attendance with us. Those needing to sit instead of stand should feel free to do so at any time. The flowers on the Altar this morning are given to the glory of God by Arleen Marston in honor of Sanctity of Life Sunday. For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb - Psalm 139:13. The Call Committee has prayerfully reviewed the list of eight candidates that were provided from the District Office and would like to present to you three candidates for your consideration in extending a Call to be the Pastor of Calvary Lutheran Church. The names have been reviewed, phone interviews conducted and consideration for the candidate have been deliberated. The Call Committee presents for your consideration the following names listed alphabetically: Pastor Brady Finnern of Sartell, Minnesota Pastor Justin Panzer of Abilene, Kansas Pastor Wayne Rostek of Norton, Kansas Information for each candidate will be in the church office for individuals to review during regular office hours. These documents may be read in the office, however they may not be removed from the church office nor can there be copies made and removed. A Congregational meeting is scheduled for January 29 at 4:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall downstairs. The purpose of the meeting is to make a call to fill our vacancy. We ask that you prayerfully consider these candidates and keep their home congregation as well as Calvary in your prayers. Praise be to God for providing us with good, quality servants to consider. Pray for God’s will to be done in providing Calvary with a Pastor. Prayers and Stitching Ministry has 2 prayer quilts on display this morning on the upstairs stair railing. One quilt is for Andre & Jackie Nelson as they grieve the passing of their son, SSGT Wesley Nelson. The other is for Max Kelly, a young man who is recovering from a severe brain injury received in a traffic accident. Please stop at each quilt, say a prayer for the recipient, and tie an additional knot on the quilts. Ushers are needed for both services. Won’t you please consider helping Calvary in this manner. If you would like to help, contact the church office or Paul Bille. Please let us know which service you prefer helping with (8 AM or 10:30 AM). We are also in need of Ushers for our special evening services (Lent, Advent, etc). Calvary is also very much in need of people to help in the following areas of service: Sunday Mug/Coffee Pot Clean Up, Sunday Coffee Makers, and Scripture Readers as well as people to help mow. If you haven’t already indicated on your 2017 Time & Talent Sheet that you would help in these areas, please contact the church office ASAP to sign up. The study is on the Fruit of the Spirit, focusing on Patience, Kindness, and Goodness and will offer us a deeper understanding of the Holy Spirit’s work of sanctification. Everyone is invited and welcome to join us. Fed to Feed: During the month of January Calvary is collecting canned soup to help supply the food pantry at TNO. Items should be placed in the receptacle marked “Topeka North Outreach Donations" located under the Usher’s Table in the Narthex. Thank you! The 2017 Valentine’s Luncheon will be held on Sunday, February 12 at McFarland’s (upstairs) at Noon. Order off the menu, All American or Tex-Mex food. Everyone is welcome to join us for good food, fellowship, and fun! If you plan to attend, please sign up on the sheet posted in the Narthex. If anyone has ideas for games, please let Sharon Dooley know. Sunday breakfast: The Prayers & Stitching Group will be providing breakfast on the 2nd Sunday of every month (profits go towards materials). The children’s Sunday School Teachers will provide breakfast on the 3rd Sunday of each month (profits go towards purchase of new Christmas Program costumes). Volunteers are needed to provide breakfast on the other Sundays of the month going forward into 2017 . Please sign up on the sheet located on the bulletin board across from the mailboxes in the Narthex.
