October 2, 2020 Volume 1, Issue 1 We are excited to announce we will be issuing bi-weekly newsletters to share information about the school (i.e. updates, events/activities, school closures, sports update). Ghááji (October), is the month of the Separation of Seasons in our Diné (Navajo) culture. It is the beginning of the Navajo New Year and many things are changing. The leaves are beginning to change colors, harvesting is happening, the cold weather is approaching, wood hauling begins, and storytelling is shared amongst families. A time of reflection, self-care, and winter preparation is of importance during this time of year. Information on Pandemic-EBT:

Parents and Guardians, the P-EBT has been extended! Our students that were enrolled last school year, received additional funds from New Mexico Human Services Department. This additional funding is now available for families that received P-EBT card in Spring of 2020. Students on SNAP or EBT benefits will be mailed a new P-EBT card on or before Oct. 22nd. New Mexico Human Services Department does not know if there will be future P-EBT issuances, but they asked families to save their existing P-EBT cards. For transfer students, P-EBT would be based on where student was enrolled at in Spring of 2020 and if the previous school submitted data to the New Mexico Human Services Department. New Mexico Human Services Department have also asked our school to update student data and addresses. If you need to change your mailing address or phone number, please contact Varlene Johnson at (505) 908-2446. If you have questions, you may contact Human Services Department Customer Service Center at 1-800-283-4465 or the P-EBT Hotline at 505-660-4822.
