Box Tops for Education
The PE department is collecting Box Tops for Education. Please turn
them in to your PE/Health teacher.
Game On!!If you like playing board games, you’ll love
Grissom’s new “Board Game Club!” The club will meet after school beginning Jan. 23rd and is open
to the first 35 students signing up. Permission forms must be returned to Mrs. Myslinski by
Tuesday, Jan.16th.
Declamation
There will be an informational meeting for
anyone interested in Declamation on Wednesday,
Jan. 10th. Tryouts will be after school on Thursday, Jan. 11th and Friday, Jan.
12th. See Mrs. Prieto in Room 116 for more information.
Ronald McDonald House CharitiesGrissom is once again collected pop tabs to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities! The pop tabs are recycled and sold for scrap metal. Last year, Ronald McDonald House
Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana raised more than
$40,000 from this program. A collection box will be in the Commons
for your donations!
Crayola ColorCycleStudents and teachers will soon be collecting used
markers (any brand!) to be converted into clean fuel. This fuel can be used to power vehicles, heat homes, cook
meals and more! Boxes will be located in the Commons. The Crayola ColorCycle program can keep tons of plastic
out of landfills each year! Remember, don’t throw out that used marker – ColorCycle it!
6th,7th, and 8th Grade Band
There will be NO morning practice for Cadet, Concert or Symphonic Band members
on Friday, Dec. 22nd. Allinstruments should be brought home today.
Early Dismissal
Friday is an early release day!
Dismissal will be at 11:56 am.
Reminder from the P.E. Department!

Student Support is offered from 8:00-8:35 am each
morning, and from 3:10-4:05 pm Monday through Thursday.
You must arrive at the beginning of the session and
stay for the whole time!
Water Bottle Filling Station Challenge
Last year Grissom Patriots saved over 6,600 plastic water bottles
from ending up in landfills by using the water bottle filling stations throughout the building. Please
remember to use these instead of plastic bottles. So far this year, we’ve saved 4,805 bottles from
landfills! Let’s beat last year’s total!
