Aug. 30- Sept. 12, 2021 #18 Farewell Party There will be a farewell party for John Wenzlau on Friday, September 17 th at 1pm in the Auditorium. All residents are invited to aend. Congratulations to Glencroſt University’s first graduates. The 13 graduates will be honored at a ceremony on Wednesday, September 8 th at 6pm, with only invited guests in aendance due to occupancy limits. Please join in by watching the ceremony live on GTV4. The graduates are: Anita Younkin, Barbara Fogel, Barbara Lothrop, Bey Nelson, Jean Verbarg, Ken Wixon, Nancy Proctor, Ramona Yoder, Robin Lyons (in memory), Sharon Wixon, Susan Stedfield, Teresa Young and Tom Grode. Cruise Week Are you ready for an adventure? Cruise Week is September 13-17! Pick up your Cruise Week booklet and get your tickets at the Activities table in Henry’s, Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm. Glencroſt Community Association Meeting On Tuesday, September 7 th at 3:30pm there will be a Glencroſt Community Association (GCA) meeting in the Auditorium. Please plan to aend as it is necessary to have at least 55 residents there in order to have a quorum, the minimum number of residents who must be present at a meeting before any business can be transacted. Announcement Following up on our previous announcement of John Wenzlau’s retirement, Glencroſt Center for Modern Aging Executive Leadership Staff and the Board of Directors are excited to announce your new CEO & President, John Thorhauer. John will begin his career with Glencroſt on September 1, 2021. John Wenzlau’s last day on campus is September 17, 2021. John Wenzlau will continue to consult for Glencroſt until December 31, 2021. Please be assured we have a planned transition period that will allow our new leader, John Thorhauer, the opportunity to gain campus knowledge and subject maer expertise directly from John Wenzlau. We thank John Wenzlau for his many years of service and for bringing ZoeLife and the Center for Modern Aging to Glencroſt! Catholic Service on CampusGather with other Catholics to watch mass on TV in the Towers South 2nd floor lobby every Sunday, from 9-10am. Communion will be given on the 1st and 3rd Sundays by Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

Friday Night EntertainmentOn September 3rd, T.A. Plastic Bag RecyclingThe GCA is working on developing a Plastic Bag Recycling Program for Glencroft. Details will be announced at the September 7th GCA Community Meeting at 3:30pm in the Auditorium.

Wednesday Night MoviesGod Bless the Broken Road, is a 2018 American Christian drama film that is a loose interpretation of the 1994 song by the same name. It will be shown on September 1st at 6pm in the Auditorium. Free popcorn and soda are available. There will not be a movie on September 8th.

Women’s Bible StudyThe Community of Faith is offering a Women’s Bible Study that will run September 30-November 18. It will be on Thursdays from 9:30-11am in the University Room. They will be studying, The Women of the Bible Speak by Shannon Bream. The study looks at the lives of 16 biblical women, the meaning of their life and how they relate to each other and to us.
