St.Ann’s News Letter 2017-18

I am glad to congratulate the Editorial board, who have put their effort

in bringing out this 5th issue of the Newsletter “St. Ann’s Rays” and now

it is renamed “Annite Rays” .

I am sure that this Newsletter will definitely convey the message to

all readers the number of Activities conducted and Events organized to

unfold and unravel the inner talents and abilities of our Students and

recognize their achievements. It also appreciates the great endeavors of

our Staff members, which includes publishing and presenting research

papers in National and International Conferences.

We are fortunate to have vibrant Students and Faculty support to transform innovative ideas into

reality. The purpose for publishing e-newsletter is to broadcast the Initiatives and Developments of

the College, Achievements of the Staff, Students and Alumni, Events organized, Participation of

Students in various competitions and prizes won and Faculty endeavors. Thus this volume of the

newsletter provides a forum for the recognition of hidden potentials and talents of Faculty and

Students and their creative achievements.

This amazing success was possible due to unstinted support and continued patronage by the

Management, Staff and Proactive students.

Inter-College Fests usually

provide an excellent platform to showcase all kinds of different talents. The various activities were organized according to the field of interest including concerts, Drama, short-film, Debates, Paper presentations, ad-making, fireless cooking and entrepreneurial games.

College festivals prepare the

ground for students to shed their individual

selves and take up responsibilities as team

players. They run from pillar to post

managing sponsorships, structuring,

planning and executing events. The fests

thus, we believe, immensely develop their

personalities and attitudes. Approximately

50 colleges were invited for the Event.

Students don’t want just to be bookworms; they look for other options

that could help them to build their future. Co-curricular and Extra-

curricular activities play a vital role in the life of students; read on to

know how. Extracurricular activities teach students how to work for a

common goal and this ultimately develops a sense of responsibility in

them. It increases their level of self-confidence and also teaches them

how to cooperate and work with people in different conditions. While

pursuing these activities in College along with Academics students learn

prioritization and time management skills too. Some of the competitions held to promote these skills were

Business Plan, Ad-Mad, Singing, Solo, Duet and Group dance, Painting, Collage making,

Google doodle, Innovision, Theme based Rangoli etc,

We invite eminent personalities

form various Industries and

Institutions to lend valuable

Information from their experiences to

our students. Guest Speakers expose

students to real world life experiences

and Students get better insights and are

helped to look from different

perspectives as the guest speakers convey

their message from their particular field of

interest. Subject related Seminars and

Guest lecturers were also conducted for the

benefit of the students.

Dr. Naveen Kumar dealt with ‘Statistics Applications

in real life’

Dr. K. Geetha explained ‘Esthetic application of

Mathematics in life’.

An environmental awareness campaign was organized for

students ITC, Bradrachalam on Dry and Wet waste segregation, WOW

(Well- being out of Waste).

Dr.Radhika Minakshi spoke on ‘Entrepreneurship - a

career choice’.

Our institute is largely adopting Industrial visits as a value-added learning method for

both, Management and Degree Students.

Industry visits bridge the gap between theoretical training and practical learning in a real-

life environment. Industry visits provide opportunity for active/interactive learning

experiences in-class as well as outside the classroom environment.

The recent industrial visits were to PARLE-G, ZINDA TILISMATH,

MASQATI dairy farm, NIN, INFOSYS( for Degree Students)

The Recent Industrial Tour was to Kerala the 7 days trip with 72 students was indeed a great industrial exposure for

our MBA Students, that they found educative, insightful and

equally enjoyable.

To refresh and renew from the daily routine, One day outing to

‘Wonderla’ was organized for our Degree Students
