WAR REMNANTS MUSEUMThe War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City is a shocking reminder of the long and brutal Vietnam War with many graphic photographs and American military equipment on display, including a helicopter with rocket launchers, a tank, a fi ghter plane, a single-seater attack aircraft and a 6800kg conventional bomb.

PHONG NHA KE BANG NATIONAL PARKPhong Nha-Ke Bang is more than a National Park, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Quang Binh Province, north-central Vietnam.

THE SAND DUNES OF MUI NEThe White Sand Dunes, or Bao Trang (White Lake) is the top attraction at Mui Ne, after the beach itself. The massive dunes range from gold to pure white (red dunes may be found further south at Mui Ne village).

EXPLANATION OF TARGETS 20121. Monthly sales to start on 1 March 2012.2. Monthly sales to end on 28 February 2013. Annique provides

a target for the total group sales for the year 1 March 2012 – 28 February 2013 that is set out as follows (as per Excel spreadsheet for everyone that has previously qualifi ed). The target excludes all non-discountable items.a. Recruitment target: Target for new consultants registered

in the year. This is for the period 1 March 2012 – 28 February 2013. These are the new members registered during this time in your whole group in other words level 1, 2, 3, etc.

b. Personal sales: Each member receives a target for personal sales, in other words a minimum of R4 000 personal sales per month must be sold, to qualify for the overseas incentive.

3. “Side volume”: If the top promoter qualifi es for the overseas tour, all her members/managers in her fi rst line (that qualify for the tour) will be excluded in her total sales and her fi gure/amount may not be less than 30% of her total. If this is the case, the member will not qualify for the tour. In other words, if there are two members in the team and one member makes up 70% or more of the promoter’s total, she qualifi es for the tour. The promoter will then not qualify for the tour as well. For example: If your group sales is R2 million and your consultant group sales is R1.8 million (90% of your R2 million), she will qualify for the tour and not you.

4. Minimum qualifi cation for fi rst tour: The minimum amount to qualify for the tour is R75 000 group sales per month including the R4 000 personal sales, i.e. sales of R900 000 per year (1 March 2012 – 28 February 2013). Members not maintaining the minimum requirements of R900 000 for the fi rst time, will not be able to pay in to join the tour. The recruitment target of 40 must be reached to qualify for the tour. If the minimum recruitment target is not reached even though the consultant exceeded the R900 000 target, the consultant will NOT qualify for the tour. The R900 000 excludes all non-discountable items.

5. Outstanding money: Any members that have outstanding debt or outstanding re-registration money or unsigned re-registration contracts will not be able to go on the tour.

6. Paying in: The tour price is calculated at R26 000 (excluding airport taxes and fees for visas). The visas and airport taxes are for each member’s own account.

7. Pocket money: You only qualify for pocket money if you reach your target with 100%+. Pocket money will only be paid if BOTH the R-value target and recruitment target has been reached.

8. Costs for the consultant’s own account:a. Airport tax is for the consultant’s account and not payable

by Annique Home Offi ce. b. Visa costs are for the consultant’s account and not payable

by Annique Home Offi ce. c. Local fl ights are for the consultant’s own account and are

not payable by Annique Home Offi ce. d. Extended tours. e. Additional accommodation. Single accommodation – all

accommodation fees are calculated on a shared basis. Single accommodation fees are for the consultant’s own account.

9. General rulesa. You can only carry the tour over to the next year once. If

you for any reason cannot attend the tour, you will need to motivate your reason to Annique Management. You can swop your tour for the following: i. R20 000 Annique gift voucher, or ii. R10 000 in cash.

b. The overseas tour is not transferable from one consultant to another one.

c. No registered Annique consultant may pay in the full amount of the tour to go along on the incentive tour.

d. Consultants that reached 80% or more of their target will be allowed to pay in. Only spouses or direct family members may accompany consultants on the tour and they need to pay in the full amount of the tour.

e. If the consultant is single or divorced she may pay the full amount and take a friend or family member, e.g. daughter/son (18 years and older) along.

THE JABS KICKS

An entrepreneur, like me, has a little respect for tradition, since tradition may be like a cess-pool, accepting fresh water on a daily basis without allowing a single drop to leave her shores. When things were running smoothly and became routine (when the graph moved into a horizontal line), I deliberately created chaos, allowing new thinking, new ideas and new energy to enter my and our think tank.

But the extra adrenaline created in the process was conducive to higher productivity, to sharper focus - which eased their stress and anxiety, which in turn gave rise to smiles and happiness - since the higher input of energy had a positive effect on bottom lines. I consider the highest values in business to be:

1. The mass-production of quality products, so that the majority of people can afford it and benefi t from it. Through this, you fulfi l your commitment to your customers by delivering quality and value-for-money products.

2. The realistic creation of job opportunities and a well-trained sales team to enter and work in the market. Hereby you fulfi l your social responsibility to support job opportunities, as far as knowledge is concerned, until they become self-reliant, self-suffi cient and retain their self-respect. You become a shareholder in the value they create in society.

Business is, however, not moonlight and roses for entrepreneurs – especially not with 73 000+ laws, rules, and regulations hanging over our heads. In another decade or so, there will be more than 100 000 laws and rules – all of which are meant to keep track of what the businessmen and -women are planning, and doing.

In order to remain standing in the topsy-turvy world the entrepreneur mostly has to possess four distinct characteristics.

1. Integrity I once read the following which applies to most entrepreneurs: “Every word I say is a promise”. Entrepreneurs commit themselves with each word they utter.

2. Discipline Each day is a building process on all the values which form part of the value system of your life, including discipline. To continue on this road takes guts. To persevere, in the face of adversity sometimes demands near super-human effort, but these are conditions under which an entrepreneur thrives.

3. Creativity Creativity is a ‘chemical process’ which takes place in the mind of the entrepreneur when confronted with a problem. In my own case something uncanny happens in my mind in such an event – it is as if a chemical is released in my brain, which virtually dissolves the problem, breaks it up into manageable segments and

allows me the ability to handle manageable segments, instead of a huge, chunky piece. The entrepreneur has the ability to place him- or herself in the shoes of his customers, which needs a lot of creative thinking. Creative thinking is, however, the ability to merge two unrelated abilities to exist in harmony and in synergy.

Success is not fi nal to the entrepreneur, neither is failure. An entrepreneur makes a conscious decision that neither of the two will ever be fi nal. Most people give up in despair, since everything looks like a failure, while an entrepreneur ‘hangs in there’ for dear life.

4. Fearless Entrepreneurs usually fear nothing and nobody. They take the kicks and jabs of life without blinking an eye and seek harmony. An entrepreneur is mostly a peace-loving person, with a childlike innocence. If he or she is not honest, his customers will sort him out in no time, thanks to the freedom of choice that capitalism allows them. If he is not honest and benevolent in his business, he may last for fi ve years or so, but never for much longer.

To be an entrepreneur is to think (and believe) that you can do everything better than the next or the previous person; to be able to take the jabs and kicks of life without blinking an eye. Entrepreneurship becomes an irrevocable commitment to objectivity and honesty.

Entrepreneurs are known to take risks, but calculated ones to make sure they don’t suffer from sleepless nights. The career of an entrepreneur is a journey, not a destination. Any weakness he or she may have will be turned around into one of the strongest characteristics.

One day a warlord stomped into a monastery with all his splendour, ceremony and arrogance. The monks disappeared silently, with only the Master remaining behind. Surprised by that, the warlord walked up to the Master and demanded that the Master bow in front of him. “I bow to no man,” the Master softly replied. Infuriated the warlord shouted: “Old man, do you know that I can run you through with my sword without blinking an eye?” Without a fl inch the Master replied: “And you are looking at a man who can be run through by a sword without blinking an eye!”

I have been run through by the sword of life many times but, as a true entrepreneur, I have taken it without blinking an eye. As Senator Hilary Clinton said in commemoration of the 911 tragedy, “We will all be touched by adversity sooner or later but we need not be entrapped by it! In our efforts to live the life we have been blessed with, we should, however, not squander our strength.”

As I said to Bongani Bingwa on Carte Blanche, in commemoration of my discovery of the benefi cial effect of Rooibos 42 years ago: “We live in a most wonderful age of mental development and whatever of truth any of us can bring to light, ought to be given to the world as a gift we owe to mankind.” This discovery is my gift to the world.

I admit to my guardianship in making life bearable for untold numbers of people all over the world through this discovery.

This light, moisturising two-phase formulation that gently removes make-up and impurities, contains natural extract from Rooibos to soothe the skin as it cleanses, as well as Bulgarian Rosewater, a superior cleanser known for its mildness, soothing and refreshing properties.

Make-up removal is an essential part of your skin care routine, if you want to have healthy and beautiful skin. Make-up tends to clog pores and, if you forego your regular make-up removal ritual, it can lead to skin problems.

When using a make-up remover, use it as follows:

LIPS: Start from the lip corners to the middle, gently removing lipstick, without stretching the lip.

EYES: Apply a few drops of make-up remover on a cotton ball and then lightly press one of the cotton balls to your lid and lashes. Keep it there for a minute, so it can work its way through the layers of make-up. Gently wipe the cotton ball, from the bridge of your nose, towards the outer corners, gently swipe your eye in a downward direction to ensure all the make-up is off. Open your eye and clean any residual make-up under your lashes. Clean residual make-up under your lashes, but be careful not to stretch the skin. Remember that eye skin is very sensitive that is why it requires a gentle make-up remover, like the Colour Caress Gentle Moisturising Make-up Remover, for a delicate skin. Tip: Do not use the same cotton ball for both eyes - if you have an infection in one eye it will quickly pass onto the other. Also, cotton rounds work much better than cotton balls because of their circular shape. You can remove the make-up from the entire area with one fl at section.

FACE: When your lip and eye make-up is removed, you can cleanse your face, from your nose towards the temples, with an Annique cleanser of your choice. Rinse with Rooibos water. Thereafter, follow your normal Annique skin care routine and do not forget to apply Eye Therapy to fi rm the skin around your eyes.

REMEMBER: A make-up remover is not a cleanser. After removing your make-up you still need to cleanse your skin with an Annique cleanser of choice.

She is Rensia Ladendorf of Uitenhage in the Eastern Cape. This professional make-up artist was found to personify Annique’s health and vitality, as she has a glowing skin, inspires a ‘wow’ feeling, has engaging eyes, an attractive smile and oozes energy.

If my group’s turnover is R190 000 or more for these 5 months will I qualify?No, remember it is the 12+6 new consultants that must bring in the turnover of R190 000 and not your existing downline.

If I already have a target from Home Offi ce will I be able to qualify?You fi rst need to reach your target from Home Offi ce (sales and new recruits) and then start recruiting 12 + 6 or more new consultants on level 1 and 2 plus they have a turnover of R190 000 or more you will qualify for a second ticket to Vietnam or R7 000 for a local holiday or R5 000 in cash.

Will I qualify for pocket money if I reach more than R190 000?Yes, the formula will be the same as the existing formula we use. The formula is available from [email protected].

Can I exchange the tour for cash?The value of the Vietnam tour is R35 000 (airport taxes and visa costs included). If you would like to take your family on a local holiday Annique will pay the holiday to a value of R7 000. If you want the money in cash we will pay R5 000 out in cash to the winner.ORThe value of the Zanzibar tour is R20 000. If you would like to take your family on a local holiday Annique will pay the holiday to a value of R3 000. If you want the money in cash we will pay R2 000 out in cash to the winner.

What if I recruit 11 new consultants and 6 of them recruit 1 each and we reach R190 000?In this case you will be able to qualify for the tour. We will allow a 9% difference in the recruits but these 11 consultants must have a turnover of R190 000 or more.

What if I recruit 10 new consultants or less and their sales were more than R190 000?You will not qualify for the tour because your consultant base is more than the 9% difference, but rather qualify for the tour to Zanzibar.

Do I only need to recruit 12 in my Level 1 and 6 of them recruit 1 each for the trip to Vietnam?The minimum number of recruits is 12 consultants in your fi rst level and 6 of them have to recruit 1 each. The maximum is up to you. If 1 of your new recruits in your level 1 recruits 6 on her own you will still qualify to accompany the Annique group to Vietnam (8 days). Just remember the minimum purchase of each new consultant (in other words the 18 new consultants) must be R2 000 (including the fi rst time kit purchases at Rand value payable).ORZanzibar?The minimum number of recruits is 8 consultants in your fi rst level and 4 of them have to recruit 1 each. What is a new consultant?This is somebody that has never been a registered Annique consultant, in other words, she has never had a membership number before.

Does the new consultant kit purchase count for the qualifying amounts?Yes defi nitely! Only the Rand-value after the 50% discount will count. In other words if she purchases her kit for R1 000 and she pays R500 – the R500 is the amount that will count towards the R190 000 or R120 000 qualifi ed amount. No other non-discountable items will count except the fi rst time kit purchases as explained above. No other kits will count for the competition like, the Première, Jubilee, etc.

2012 kicked off with a bang. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive and the sales inspired, with a growth of more than 23% nationally.
