    Nominations in Various Committee of the Government of India ANNEXURE-1 PAGE 3-11 Shakti Vahini has been appointed by the Honourable Supreme Court of India as Member of Expert Panel to assist the court in the case related to rehabilitation of Sex workers and Trafficked Victims vide order dated 24/08/2011 (Budhadev Karmaskar Vs. State of West Bengal and Others); [(2011) 10 SCC 283] Page 287 Para 9. ANNEXURE -2 PAGE 12-16 Shakti Vahini has been appointed as the Member of the Delhi Advisory Committee to Combat Human Trafficking formed by the Ministry of Women and Child, Government of NCT of Delhi vide Notification dated 20/12/2012. ANNEXURE-3 PAGE 17-20 Shakti Vahini has been nominated as the Member of the Central Advisory Committee to Combat Human Trafficking by the Ministry of Women and Child, Government of India vide notification dated 23/09/2013. The mandate of the Committee is to consider all aspects of trafficking related to women and children for the purpose of commercial sexual exploitation. ANNEXURE-4 PAGE 21-22 Shakti Vahini has been nominated as the Member of the Advisory Board of Social Worker as specified in Section 13 3(b) of the Immoral Traffic Prevention Act 1956 by the Government of NCT of Delhi. ANNEXURE-5 PAGE 23 Shakti Vahini was nominated to be part of the Inter Ministerial Group formed by the Ministry of Women and Child, Government of India vide notification dated 06/09/2012 to give recommendations to the Amendment of Immoral Traffic Prevention Act 1956. ANNEXURE-6 PAGE 24 Shakti Vahini has been nominated by National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) to be part of the Expert Committee to develop a Model Protocol to Combat Human Trafficking .

  • Training and Sensitization of the Law Enforcement Agencies Shakti Vahini has been nominated as Resource Agency for Training of Law Enforcement Agency by the Bureau of Police Research and Development, Government of India and also by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. Involvement in Judicial Colloquiums on Human Trafficking Shakti Vahini has been involved as a resource in Judicial Colloquium on Human Trafficking at the Delhi Judicial Academy, Haryana Judicial Academy & Himachal Pradesh Judicial Academy. Research Reports Published Shakti Vahini has undertaken a Research study on Honor Killings in India in collaboration with the National Commission for Women, Government of India. Shakti Vahini has also undertaken a National Level Research on Human Trafficking for United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) which was published as India Country Assessment Report 2013.The report was released by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. International Awards/Recognitions Shakti Vahini was awarded the Solidarity Award by the Vital Voices Washington in 2013. The award was given to Shakti Vahini by Mr. Joe Biden, Vice President of the United States of America. Shakti Vahini has presented a Paper before the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission, United States Senate on Violence against Women and children in 2013. Shakti Vahini report on Human Trafficking was nominated as International Best Practices by the United States Trafficking in Person Report 2005.
