Anna’s Flat Stanley Journey La Quinta, California Miles traveled: 2038 one way / 4076 round trip

Welcome to California! I flew on an airplane to La Quinta, which is in the Palm Springs area in southern California. I started my journey by climbing a

palm tree. This sure is different from Harrison!

Good thing I researched the weather before I came here. While it’s been cold in Ohio, it’s been sunny and blue

skies here. The average temperature has been

90 degrees. Wow! Good thing I was able to go

swimming every day on my vacation. I really liked my new turtle

friend, too.

Anna may have mentioned that I love flowers, so I was interested to see that since La Quinta is actually part of a desert

environment, the flowers are very different. Here I am hanging out with some succulents. Do you know what those are?

La Quinta and the Palm Springs area are located in the Coachella Valley which is surrounded by mountains. No visit here would

be complete without a few good hikes! As you can see, you should always keep water with you….it’s hot and dry here!

On my last night here, we decided to play some music and have a little going away party for me. While I am a pretty good dancer and an awesome singer, I have never played the guitar before. Hopefully, Anna will sign me up for guitar lessons when I get

home to Harrison. Also, here’s a picture I took of my host family.
