In the past we conformed to certain beliefs due to the fear of committing a deadly sin and not being inherited into the kingdom of God, these sins were served as means to discipline christians in the name of a higher morality and used as a safeguard for a functioning society. I think our fears have evolved and shifted over the centuries into being scared of the ideal perfection that has been created in con-temporary society. The ways we adapt what we do to fit this perfection and the extremes it has lead to have become, for me a new depiction of these sins.
