Although visible redness may primarily be caused by a genetic predisposition, individual lifestyle can considerably affect the skin condition of every one of us.The increasing life span of the population brings an ever growing number of aging people with visible, cumulative skin damage. Their skin becomes hyper-pigmented, thin and fragile. While widely used medication (including blood thinners) does contribute to longevity, their use is often accompanied by side effects expressed in persistent hyper-sensitive redness. Paradoxically, this same group with mature skin readily adopts “active rejuvenation procedures” that can challenge the “tired” capillary walls - beyond their recovery potential.

Skin Redness and Fragility

Unfortunately, chronic damage to capillary functioning is irreversible. The list of cosmetic means at our disposal is limited, providing only temporary relief.

Generally, water based soothing and cooling hydro-gels provide fast, but short term, relief for redness and discomfort.Coagulation by heat, using phototherapy of electrolysis, has become increasingly popular because it may offer a long term improvement in certain cases.For longer lasting improvement, the use of an AHA based care regimen is recommended. Gradual skin renewal will enhance regeneration and thickening of the epidermis, diminishing the visibility of the capillaries. However, any such care must be accompanied by the “religious” daily use of broad spectrum protection.

Smoking, coffee, exposure to the sun, hot showers, heat and dry air are the key elements to be avoided.Unfortunately, we have no control over prescribed medications.In terms of cosmetic treatments, any harsh actions such as abrasive peels, heat related treatments, occlusive preparations and metabolic stimulation.The wide use of astringents, which had seemed to be the default of choice for this skin condition, has now been proven to be too demanding for capillary fragility.

A rich mildly exfoliating emulsion that will turn facial cleansing into a daily pleasure. Excellent for delicate skin that does not tolerate detergent based liquid soaps. Formulated with sustainable emollient oils that assist in dissolving all makeup traces.Contains soothing botanical extracts (Marigold, the carotene rich seed oil of the Brazilian Bixa Orellana (Annato). Facial Mist

A refreshing facial toner formulated as a light, oil free natural gel that soothes the skin, increasing its moisture binding capacity. It is ideal for stressed skin or as a relief following excessive exposure to the sun. Directions: When used for facial care, sprinkle into the palm of your hand or onto a soft cotton pad and then apply onto required area to refresh or hydrate it. Directions: Apply a thin layer to facial areas where mild exfoliation is desired.Briefly massage with slow circular motions until the skin underneath feels smooth. Directions: For best results apply the mask in a generous enough layer to maintain it moist for at least 15-20 min.
