Why Did I Choose This Career?

When I was young of age, I used to wait for hours for anime episodes to air on TV. When I was the age of 12, I had watched a popular anime produced by Ken Akamatsu and his team. Mahou Sensei Negima (Magic Teacher Negima).

This changed my life because I enjoyed it so much. I wanted to produce anime and capture audiences attention, and their hearts.

A Day as an Anime Producer

This is dependent on what part of the team you work with. I want to draw and animate designs of characters and creatures. This job would typically involve multiple stages of character drawing ideas.

Each character is refined until the project lead is satisfied with a refined product. Then the animator will take the drawing, scan it and proceed to manipulate it to create the animation.

Education For training I would attend the Okanagan University

College. The program I would attend would be the 2D Animation Theory and Figure Drawing course. This course costs 3120.00$ per year. Books aren’t necessarily required due to artists that will be showing you different techniques, and animators will be teaching you how to animate properly.

Salary Salary is dependent on two things:

What the animation rates are, and how much footage you produce in a week. Some companies have low rates and low requirements. Some are completely opposite. If you can complete above the footage requirements per week, you can receive a bonus. Some animators that work hard can live very luxuriously.

Working Conditions There are almost no work hazards involved. The

only problem you may face is maybe a paper cut or a computer blowing up in your face. Anime production is very safe. You would be working in a well lit room mostly supplied with plenty of electricity. You would most likely be working with others towards completion of the project. This job can sometimes be rushed, but most of the time hard work will pay off. Hours can be from early morning to late evening.
