Fur
The bodies of Felidae are usually covered in fur, which helps to keep them warm.
Behavior
All cats are carnivorous, meaning that they naturally eat meat. Many of their physical adaptations,
such as night vision and sharp claws, enhance their ability to hunt for prey.

HYAENIDAE
The Hyena is a member of the family Hyaenidae.
Kingdom: Animalia Phylum: Chordata
Class: Mammalia
Order:Carnivora
This family contains 4 species, each in its own genus. It is a common misconception that hyenas are dogs -in fact, as I've already mentioned, they belong to their own family, Hyaenidae. Their dog-like appearance is
the result of convergent evolution
VIVERRIDAEThe civets and genets belong to one of the four families of terrestrial cat-like mammals descended from the
Viverraines, which were civet/genet-like mammals. Viverrids are cat-like in many of their features and
expressions. They have pointed faces, a wide variety of markings on their coats and long bushy tails.

Characteristics
They vary in size from the fennec fox at 24 cm (9.4 in) long, to the gray wolf, which may be up to 2 m (6.6 ft)
long, and can weigh up to 80 kg (180 lb). Canids have relatively long legs and lithe bodies, adapted for
chasing prey. All canids are digitigrade, meaning they walk on their toes. Most canids bear young once a
year, All living canids (Caninae) have a ligament analogous to the nuchal ligament of ungulates. Almost allcanids are social animals and live together in groups.
