About UsThe Art Farm in the City is an eco-friendly and organic facility which teaches children about nature, animals and how to better care for our planet. We offer art, music and cooking drop-in programs on weekdays and weekends. Our unique, USDA licensed, indoor petting zoo has a wide variety of animals including rabbits, chin-chillas, guinea pigs, lizards, turtles, frogs, chick-ens, doves and parrots! With over 50 animals to touch and discover, children are able to explore the diversity of the animal kingdom through exciting hands-on experiences!

About Our Outreach TeamGabby Sachs, our animal education specialist has been teaching students about animals since 1992. Prior to joining The Art Farm in 2009, she educated thousands of students through the Education Departments at the Houston Zoo and Bronx Zoo. Gabby has now trained several Art Farm staff members to help us teach students throughout NYC to appreciate and connect to the natural world. All of our outreach instructors have received extensive training in animal handling and are experienced in teaching children of all ages.
