Serendipity - Women’s Day 2020
Museum of Experiences
On the occasion of Women’s day, Department of IT, College of Engineering, ANITS has
conducted SERENDIPITY – WOMENS DAY 2020, a series of competitions where the woman
faculty, staff and students showcased their hidden talent with enthusiasm and zest. Events like
Rangoli, singing, dance, board games, communication game, musical chairs, best out of waste,
salad decoration, flower decoration etc. were conducted with active participation, zeal and
enthusiasm never seen before from one and all women members at ANITS. These events were
judged by various lady faculty members of other departments and made the events successful.
These multiple events were culminated to a final event on 9th
March 2020. The function
was graced by the Chief Guest Commander Priya Khurana, HQ Eastern Naval Command, VSP,
Mrs. Y. Kavitha, Associate Vice President HR, ANES, Prof. T.V.Hanumanth Rao Principle
ANITS. Faculty and students of various Departments were present in the function. The
dignitaries who graced the occasion have released the news letter of SERENDIPITY –
WOMENS DAY 2020: a museum of experiences.
On 09–03–2020 winners of the various events were rewarded with prizes, short cultural
programs were performed by event winners. Guest expressed their experiences in professional
world on how one can be successful and establish equality without gender bias, discrimination
free work places.

Musical chairs is a game of elimination involving players, chairs, and music, with one
fewer chair than players. When the music stops whichever player fails to sit on a chair is
eliminated, with a chair then being removed and the process repeated until only one player
remains.
Dumb Charades is a word guessing name and can add lots of excitement and fun to your
parties. You can involve kids, people of all age groups and they’ll all have a wonderful time. This
game also acts as an icebreaker in team outings, family get-togethers, school excursions, etc.
We conducted five rounds for each event. Around 30 faculty members were participated
from various departments in these events.

Chess is a recreational and intellectual game but also a sport, which is played on a board.
It improves spatial skills and help to open up our mind. Coming to caroms – it is cue based table
top game. Which is more entertained game. And coming to communication game - Clear
communication is crucial for success in any job, especially for interaction-driven position. It is
fun game here the postures of first person is fully manipulated when it reaches to last person in
the team. Around 30 members from various departments were showed enthusiasm in
participating these events. All the participants were made this event successful.

Singing: Singing exercises your heart, lungs, and releases endorphins, making you feel good. In
this event various songs like traditional, English, Hindi, Tamil songs sung by our faculty.
Dancing: “When you dance, your purpose is not to get a certain place on the floor. It’s to enjoy
each step along the way”. Dancing stimulates the mind, body, & soul. It has been proven to
increase cognitive strengths and prolong life,that is the Miracle of dance.” We conducted
dancing event to the faculty and enjoyed the various forms of dance.
Antyakshari: In this event we got the more number of participations. We divided persons into
groups. We conducted three rounds for this event.
Round 1: one group Give the first letter of the last word to other group is in their song.
Round 2: We gave the words of song. Based on that word they have to identify the song.
Round 3: In this we gave the old hero and heroin’s names. Based on that they have to sing
the songs. Around 40 members are participated in this events.

Rangoli: This event is one of the successful events ever conducted. Participants from various
departments have actively participated in this event. They showcased their talent by designing
beautiful rangolis. They have come up with creative rangoli design ideas and also with some
theme based rangolis. Participants who have sketched the best rangolis were awarded.
Flower decoration: In this event, waste materials were provided to the participants. Everyone
has used their creativity and innovative ideas to make the best flowers out of the waste. Many
hidden talents were unlocked by this event.
Salad decoration: In this event, participants carved raw vegetables and fruits into beautiful
shapes and decorated them. This decoration aims a theme and the best one is awarded.
