Prayer to St. Michael, The Arch Angel

St. Michael the Arch Angel, be our guide and our guard during the time of our spiritual warfare. Protect us from the evil designs of Satan, our enemy. We humbly pray that God rebuke him. Oh chief of the heavenly army, expel all the wicked spiritual forces that roam the earth with the intention of destroying souls. Drive them to the fires of hell by the power of God.

Oh, my dear Guardian Angel,

protect me from all dangers.

Help me, so that I may remain a

beloved child of my Jesus.

Safeguard me from all dangers

and bad dreams tonight.

Discipleof Christ

Friends, let us get to know a saint who is also a relative of Jesus. He is the saint of desperate cases and lost causes. Do you know who he is? He is St. Jude Thaddeus. He was one of the 12 Apostles of Jesus. Jude’s parents are Cleophas

and Mary, who are also seen in Bible.

As soon as we hear the name Judas it reminds us of Judas Iscariot who betrayed our Lord, but Judas Thaddeus loved Jesus very deeply. Jesus, Judas and his brother James were cousins, and playmates and were raised under the loving guidance of Mother Mary. They loved one another like brothers and grew up together playing, sharing, praying & studying.

Once they decided to act a play on Exodus. Judas' role was to dance around an idol and he refused to do so. He said "Even for fun I will not dance around an idol as I belong to Yahweh". The three friends were like three shoots supported by one pole-Mother Mary, who was an icon of God’s love, wisdom & knowledge.

When Jesus started his public ministry, Judas' family stopped him from following his beloved friend even though he yearned to be with him. Judas witnessed the miracle at the wedding of

Cana when Jesus turned water into wine at the request of his beloved mother. Once Judas realized Jesus’ attitude towards the needy, he developed a great desire to follow Jesus. Finally, he left home and followed Jesus.

After the resurrection of Jesus, the apostles were sent apart to proclaim the Good News to various parts of the world. Judas & Simon preached in Syria and eventually lead many to repentance. He preached the Gospel with great passion even in most difficult circumstances.

Once, both Simon and Judas were starving and they requested for food to an aged farmer. Though he was poor, he felt sympathy for them and went out to buy food for them. Meanwhile they started ploughing the farm and sowing the seeds. The farmer could not believe his eyes when he returned. His field was ready for a bountiful harvest. He then realized that they were holy people and enquired of them “what

Sure my child. Never ignore your prayers. You must always remember God and the hard work of your brothers.

Xavier and his friends reached the famous St. Barbara college in Paris. At hostel he stayed along with his class mate Peter Faber.

Peter why are you so immersed in studies? Why don’t you join me for a horse ride?

At the age of 11, I pledged m y s e l f t o God; my only desire is to serve God and men.

Many years have passed. Xavier tried every way to get attention from others. He bought an expensive horse and appointed a servant for his care.

I w a n t t o b e famous, and the w o r l d s h o u l d notice me. I want to regain the fame of my family. I want to be rich and powerful.

Eucharist: The Living Bread of The Soul

Jesus is praying on his knees in the desert.

What are you doing in the desert alone?

Satan got frightened

In a fraction of a moment Satan showed the whole world to Jesus.

Look, the whole world is under my dominion. Man wants wealth, position and luxuries; no one is interested in obedience, suffering, sacrifice and poverty as you say.

If you adore and worship me once, all these will be yours.

Get away Satan. It is written “worship and serve the Lord your God alone”.

Keep quiet. Do you not know that one does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from God.

Are you not hungry? It has been many days since you ate!If you say a word these rocks will soon turn into food!

Does God lead my life and the world?

“Yes, but in mysterious ways; God guides everything along paths that only he knows, leading it to its perfection. At no point in time does something that he has created fall out of his hands”.

Child: Is it God who controls the world and my life, Grandma?

Grandma: Yes my child, as God lead the Israelites by making a path through the red sea, God controls and guides us and the whole world.

Child : Does God guide me too? How does he do that?

Grandma: Remember what you told me the other day, about a boy who saved you from a bus which was about to dash against you? This is how God intervene even in our trivial affairs.

Child: What should I do for that?

Grandma: God alone is sufficient for us. All you need to do is trust and depend on Him. Then God will help us at the apt moments.

Child: Yes Grandma. I will thank the Lord who guides me always.
