John Wilhelm of Vineland bought the winning All American Raffle ticket #273! His winning ticket was drawn at the Deerfield Harvest Festival on October 11th. This year we sold 962 of the 999 Raffle tickets, with all net proceeds benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland & Salem Counties.
John had a variety of prize options available to choose from including a 2015 Cadillac SRX, 2015 Chevrolet Camaro 2LT Convertible, 2015 Dodge Challenger RT Plus, and 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4x4. John selected the Pair of 2016 Harley Davidson Motorcycles.

Holiday Help Needed
We are gearing up for the Holiday Season at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland & Salem Counties. As we prepare for the 2015 Holiday Season, we need your help. Listed below are donation options and Deadlines for each.
1. SPONSOR A FAMILY FOR THE HOLIDAYS We will provide you with names, ages, gender and interest of all children within a family. You can request the size and location of the family that you would like to help.
Contact Valerie Farrow at [email protected] or 856-692-0916 if you would like to adopt a family for the holidays. Donated items may include: clothing, linens, toys, food, and gift cards to department and/or grocery stores. All items must be received in the BBBS Office by December 15, 2015.
2. DONATE A GIFT FOR A CHILD – BOY OR GIRL You can donate an unwrapped gift for a boy or girl, between the ages of 3 to 18 years of age. Deadline for donated gifts must be received at the BBBS Office by December 15, 2015. Gift ideas: Sports items, Barbie Dolls, Transformers, Action Figures, Lego’s, Art Kits, New Books and Gift Cards for Teens.
3. MAKE A DONATION FOR OUR HOLIDAY PARTY If you would like to make a Financial Contribution to assist with food, games and give-a-ways please contact Donna Bennett at 856-692-0916 or [email protected]. Deadline for the Holiday Party must be received by December 15, 2015.

Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno Visits
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland & Salem Counties
On Tuesday, September 1st, we welcomed Lt. Governor and Secretary of State Kim Guadagno, local government officials, and board members to our office for an afternoon visit. They visited with some of our matches and learned more about mentoring in South Jersey. Thank you, Lieutenant Governor Guadagno, for your time and your interest in what we’re doing to make a difference!
Lt. Governor Guadagno also presented Donna Bennett, President/CEO with a proclamation citing the agency’s many accomplishments in the name of children.

This month we spotlight the newest addition to our staff: Enrollment and Match Specialist, Dominique O’Brien. Dominique will work primarily with the High School Mentoring Program. Dominique grew up in Richland, New Jersey and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Vineland. She attended Cumberland County College. After Cumberland County College she attended and graduated from Stockton University with a degree in Psychology. In addition to working part time at Big Brothers Big Sisters, Dominique is a substitute teacher in the Greater Egg Harbor School District. Dominique is also a Certified Yoga instructor. She is a new mom, with a 17 month old son. Dominique is excited about her job with Big Brothers Big Sisters. She especially likes working directly with the children and using her education and background to make a difference.

We Salute our Veteran BIGS
This Veteran’s Day we spotlight our Bigs who are also Veterans.
Bruce Land is a Vietnam War veteran who received the Bronze Star for his
service. Bruce recently ran for New Jersey Assembly and won. Bruce is a Captain for the Department of Corrections and coaches youth sports, and Bruce still finds time to be a Big Brother!
Diana Pitman is currently the Director of the Cumberland County Veterans
Affairs Department. Diana served in the US Army Nurse Corp for nine years. Diana is a frequent speaker on Veterans issues including Post Traumatic Stress. Diana first became a Big Sister in 1998 and was instrumental in starting up a Big Brothers Big Sisters Adult School Based Mentoring Program at Veterans Memorial Middle School in Vineland.
Perry Hogan is a two time Big Brother who served in the Army for 8 years.
Perry who works for the Department of Corrections, enjoyed being a Big so much, he was matched with his second Little Brother over a year ago.

their time as a Big.

Little Sister Niyah Crowned Miss Monogram
The announcement was made during the October 10th Vineland football game. Niyah is an Advanced Placement student and a part-time hostess at Red Lobster. She is involved in numerous Vineland High School clubs and activities including Concert Band, Wizardry 101, National Honor Society, cross country, and track and field. She holds freshman and sophomore school records and also has earned All-Conference honors for javelin for the past two years. She plans to attend college and is focused on the University of Pennsylvania.
