Anemia ● Anemia is a condition of having low levels of red blood cells or

hemoglobin.

● The function of the haemoglobin is to carry oxygen inside red blood

cells, which distribute oxygen throughout the body.

● Haemoglobin is rich in iron and provides red color to the blood.

usually confirmed by CBC.

❖ Iron deficiency anemia. - By taking iron supplements and changing your diet.

❖ Vitamin deficiency anemias.- This involves dietary supplements and increasing folic acid and nutrients

in the diet

❖ Aplastic Anemia- Blood transfusions are done to boost levels of red blood cells.

❖ Hemolytic anemias.- Avoiding suspect medications, treating infections and taking drugs

that suppress the immune system

❖ Sickle cell anemia.- Treatment might include oxygen, pain relievers, and oral and

intravenous fluids to reduce pain and prevent complications.
