  • Anello Building

  • THE ANELLO BUILDINGA window of opportunity has enabled the residential conversion of this beautiful warehouse building. Believed to have been originally built by De Havilland for the manufacture of aircraft parts it then became the home of Anello & Davide the theatrical shoe manufacturers. For many years designing and hand making for the endless list of stars of stage and screen. This design was beautifully adapted to become the iconic Beatle boot that all the pop bands favoured and produced the Saturday morning, famously long queues to the A&D shops in Drury Lane. Following the sale of Anello & Davide, the building was let to a photographic library which then evolved into Getty Images. The timely cessation of their lease has contributed to this warehouses further metamorphosis. A number of enduring architectural virtues at The Anello Building reflect the fresh modern thinking of the 1930s. Flanked by a pair of elegant stairwell towers, the exterior shines with the huge factory windows that are so reminiscent of the era, and that provide a rich foundation for the contemporary lofts within.

  • LOCATIONWhile other neighbourhoods seem intent on becoming carbon copies of each other, Camdens singular mix of affluent and alternative lifestyle stands tall above the masses. With its combination of markets and music, historic streets, beautiful parks and peaceful waterways, Camden is now rooted in the minds of people from across the world as an extraordinary, fascinating and decidedly liveable neighbourhood, right in the centre of London. Immortalised in film, song and literature, Camden began life as an important location in the early development of the railways and as part of the London Canal Network. But its place in the heart of contemporary Londoners stems from rather more recent history, when, in 1973, a former timber yard was turned into Camden Lock Market. Today, that market has swelled to what is effectively Londons very own Grand Bazaar: five outlandishly urban medinas overflowing with furniture, art, fashion and more in the citys most diverse and rambunctious milieu. Despite a remarkable position in the very centre of Camden, just one road away from the vibrant hustle of the high street and markets, it is hard to believe The Anello Building is merely 100 meters away from the pulsating heart of Londons most effervescent neighbourhood, which now include plans for technology hubs. This combined with the close proximity with the regeneration of Kings Cross gives the location of Anello a unique mix of business, creativity and leisure.

  • Camden High Street and Camden Lock are where the action is, a bustling high street and busy market that caters to almost everyone.

Camden High Street has everything from big supermarkets to small delis, well-known

chain stores and independent retailers. There are plenty of food and drink options, even the

streets are peppered with stalls cooking up food from around the globe.

By stark contrast, the beautiful and sedate London village of Primrose Hill just a few minutes walk from Camden High Street delivers a collection of posh boutiques,

glamorous gastropubs, and chic cafes that feel a world away from the bustle nearby. The village centre is draped along Regents Park Road and arcs gently up to the foot of Primrose Hill itself: walk to the top and

discover some of the most wonderful views to be had over the centre of London.

InterCity services, as well as Eurostar services to mainland Europe. Transport hub aside the whole area appears to have transformed into one big

restaurant catering for all tastes. You can discover Iranian, Indian at Dishoom, Australian at Caravan, fusion at Bill Granger or Teutonic at the German

Gymnasium. For therapeutic exercise why not try the Kings Cross Pond Club an all natural

    swimming experience.

A beautiful and elegant green haven in the very centre of the city, Regents Park is the most regal and quintessentially English

of all the London parks. Alongside cricket pitches, gardens, a boating lake and a

world-renowned Open Air Theatre, the park is also the home of London Zoo. Exploring

the surrounding streets will take you into the adjoining neighbourhoods of St Johns Wood,

  • PUPPY LOVEPlay games with your neighbours or enjoy a quiet pint at this hip, cosy and stylish tavern, just across the street from The Anello Building. A mammoth list of guest ales and beer cocktails; comfy leather booths and designer dishevelled brickwork; board games aplenty and a warmly welcoming vibe, BrewDog is the perfect realisation of a modern local pub, with the mildest smattering of punk art.

CIRCLE OF LIFEOne of Londons most seminal, enduring and downright loved venues, The Roundhouse a former Victorian railway repair shed is one of the most consistently innovative places in the capital to grab a live performance. Alongside its newer accompanying studio space, this unique circular auditorium puts on an eclectic programme of established and upncoming acts from around the world and every genre. Music, theatre, circus, cabaret: whatever your pleasure, youll find it here.

VENUE OF LEGENDSSince opening its doors on Boxing Day 1900, Koko has thrived in its various incarnations as a theatre, cinema, variety and music venue. Charlie Chaplin regularly performed here, The Goon Show was recorded here, and both the punk and new romantic scenes found a natural home here. A massive restoration in 2005 sparked continued vitality with subsequent shows from the likes of Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Coldplay, Prince and Madonna.

STRETCH OUTBend it like Bikram, sharpen your chakras and perfect your posture at a range of neighbour-hood studios encompassing Pilates, Yoga and Barre: the ultimate antidotes to the hustle of the city. From sociable group classes and individual private lessons, to skill-refining workshops and immersive retreats, whatever discipline tickles your spiritual fancy hot yoga, Ashtanga, meditation, mindfulness theres something to suit every ability and interest.

PUB GRUBTwo of Londons finest gastro pubs are within walking distance of the Anello Building. The Engineer, named after the celebrated Victorian visionary, Isambard Kingdom Brunel, is a wonderfully cosy spot for a Sunday Roast, relaxed lunch or supper of pub classics, while the sumptuous interior of The Princess of Wales includes an elegant first floor dining room and private event space. Both of these neighbourhood hostelries have particularly fine gardens.

GIN PALACEPart of Camdens lesser-known history includes its role at the heart of Londons gin industry. From a 20-acre site that stretched from the lock to the Roundhouse, this was the Victorian epicentre of distilling, storing and exporting Mothers Ruin, shipped out daily by dedicated express trains. Today, in the vaults of a former gin warehouse, Half Hitch has revived this period in Camdens boozy heritage as a micro-distillery and store.
