Considered one of the most important American artists of the 20th century. His ideas and work both reflect popular culture. During the 1960’s, he created hundreds of soup cans by using the silkscreen process in a place he called “The Factory”. He painted famous celebrities using the same image repeatedly. He created movies and wrote books. While making a film, one of his actresses shot Andy almost killing him.
