And in the UK, how does Android look?

Sales of mobile phones on the Android platform in the UK have increased fourfold in April 2010.

1 in 5 smartphones sold in the UK is Android.

Android’s market share of handset sales has grown from 1.6% to 6.7% from the end of March to the end of April and continues to increase.

In the smartphone market, Android accounts for 37.6% of the total mobile handset market, and 63.9% of the contract market.

Android is gaining market share from rival platforms, rather than just benefitting from an overall increase in smartphone uptake in the UK.
