Evolution of AndroidThe version history of the Android mobile operating system began with the release of the Android beta in November 2007. The first commercial version, Android Angel Cake 1.0, was released in September 2008. Android is under ongoing development by Google and the Open Handset Alliance (OHA), and has seen a number of updates to its base operating system since its initial release.Since April 2009, Android versions have been developed under aconfectionery-themed code name and released in alphabetical order, beginning with Android 1.5 "Cupcake"; The most recent major Android update is Android 5.0 "Lollipop", which was released on November 3, 2014. 

Android is a mobile operating system (OS) based on the Linux kernel and currently developed by Google. With a user interface based on direct manipulation, Android is designed primarily for touchscreen mobile devices such as smartphonesand tablet computers.

It the next version of eclair .it was released onDecember 3, 2009. It

has a special feature Voice Typing lets you input text, while Voice

Actions allow you to control your phone, just by speaking. It was

the advanced feature in it

This version is gingerbread 2.3 .it was relased on May 20, 2010, it was added with New sensors

make Android great for gaming – so you can touch, tap, tilt and play away. This is mostly for gaming and the remaining is

same seen in previous versions.

It was released on December 6, 2010.This was designed for

tablets, this release opens up new horizons wherever you are.

Android 3.0 Honeycomb

It was launced on February 22, 2011.Android comes of age with a

new, refined design. Simple, beautiful and beyond smart. As

there are no more special features in this .since this version flops.

Android 4.0 Icecream sandwich

Jelly bean was launched  on July 9, 2012, Android is fast and smooth with slick graphics.

With Google Now, you get just the right information at the right time.

got the freedom to do what you want on any device you choose.

It was one of mostly using software.it was released

onOctober 31, 2013.Smart, simple and truly yours. A more polished

design, improved performance and new features.

It was the latest version of the android .hence it occupy second position in android it was launched on November

12, 2014.A sweet new take on Android. Get the smarts of Android on screens big and
