Skills Used
I use a variety of assessment skills in determining the needs of my patients. I treat as needed, according to
state and department protocols. I then transport as needed to the appropriate medical facility. I supervise and
direct the actions on other members of my team as needed.

Responsibilities
Initially I began working in the CDU at Creighton. We prepared and recovered patients from same day
surgeries, biopsies, dialysis treatments, blood transfusion, cardiac procedures, and other procedures requiring
only short hospital stays. I later transferred to the emergency room. As a nurse in a Level 1 Trauma Center
I cared for patients of all age groups with a wide range of illnesses and injuries. I helped prepare them for
emergent surgical procedures and hospital admission.
Accomplishments
I has voted nurse of the year for my department in 2011.
Skills Used
I used a wide range of assessment and critical thinking skills in the care of my patients. I also used care andcompassion in dealing with families and patients in their times of great need. I am certified in BLS, ACLS,
PALS, and TNCC.

I cared for patients in the ICCU setting with a variety of illnesses and injuries. While we cared for all ages, the
patients were primarily elderly. I also cross-trained to the med/surg, obstetrics, and emergency departments.
Skills Used
I delivered care to patients with a variety of health conditions. I supervised the cares given by unlicensed
personnel. At the time I was a CPR instructor and taught CPR classes to employees and other interested
persons. I maintained certifications in BLS, BLS instructor, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and TNCC
Temporary Agency NurseStat Staff - Omaha, NE - October 2000 to April 2002
Responsibilities
I worked a nurse for a temporary agency and was assigned to various facilities. During the last year I worked
for them, I was assigned longterm as night shift charge nurse at a longterm care facility. The facility had a
variety of levels of care, including independent living, assisted living, ICF, SNF,and Alzheimers/dementia units.
I supervised the cares provided by nurses, medications aides, and nursing assistants. I handled scheduling
issues as they arose and made staff work assignments.
Accomplishments
When I started at the facility they had received poor ratings during state inspections and had been repeatedly
fined for care issues. I worked, with other staff members, to improve care and documentation in the facility.
The issues were resolved and care improved. Resident and family satisfaction increased tremendously, as
did the next state inspection.
Skills Used
I assessed patients for changes in their condition. I did admissions, discharges, and changes in level of
provided. I administered medications and treatments. I spoke to physicians and families regarding changes in
patient condition. I supervised staff and made adjustments in the schedule as necessary.
