What an exciting evening for Anderson Green on Friday 18th November at the CIBSE Yorkshire Awards 2016. Not only did we win Project of the Year, we were also shortlisted for Project of the Year for Public Use & Leisure. The winning project was the new University of Derby Sports Centre. The new sports facility is a £8.2 million development comprising an 8 court hall with retractable seating, gymnasium and spinning room, 2 squash courts, physiotherapy rooms, 40m indoor track and changing facilities. In addition there is a 3 storey climbing wall, multi-use spaces and a central cafe. The building was designed to maximise the energy performance without compromising the aesthetics of the space. High efficient condensing boilers to provide the hot water and underfloor heating along with the ventilation heat recovery help minimise energy consumption. LED lamp technology is adopted throughout as a matter of standard. The facility is designed to BREEAM standards, easily achieving the “Very Good” level required. Anderson Green were involved in the M&E and BREEAM for the project.
