The Mall

Geography: United Arab Emirates

Background: The Mall is the new kid on the block, located along Jumeirah Beach Road and opposite the Jumeirah Beach Hotel and the iconic Burj Al Arab Hotel. This friendly and intimate newbie has the ambition to be more than just a shopping centre and act as a social hub where the habitants of Jumeirah as well as nearby tourists can enjoy great food in a relaxing atmosphere and a different retail mix offering unique store concepts seen for the first time in Dubai.

Deliverables: Our assignment with The Mall commenced in 2013 with our initial scope to develop the over-arching Retail Strategy for the site. The scope was expanded to incorporate the strategic development of the retail mix, floor planning as well as creating the entire brand identity with brand guidelines, media campaigns and advertisement as well as events.

Background: As an integral component of the ‘Long Term Dubai Strategic Plan’, Dubai International Financial Centre is now targeting to grow by a factor of 3X during the next 10 years, and play a central role in driving the contribution of the ‘Financial Services Sector’ from 12% to 18% of the Dubai GDP in the process.Central to the strategic role of Dubai International Financial Centre are the major attractions as to why international financial institutions, insurance and re-insurance, wealth management, and legal firms would choose Dubai as their Middle East hub. We have this as the value proposition and have coined it “Advance. Engage. Enjoy”. The value propositiion combines business prosperity, community engagement and lifestyle factors within Dubai International Financial Centre as the core message.

Deliverables: Our assignment with Dubai International Financial Centre has both a strategic and creative component, which helped define the strategic platform (Advance. Engage. Background: Alkhorayef Commercial Company is part of the Alkhorayef Group and focuses on the agriculture & irrigation, power systems, pipes and water works, marine and material handling sectors. Alkhorayef Commercial is the Saudi Arabia representative of some of the best known global brands including John Deere, Volvo Penta,, Pierce and Yamaha. Alkhorayef Commercial has also developed a number of domestic brands including Gulf Power. With increasing pressure on profitability and changes in government policy, particularly inagriculture, Alkhorayef Commercial were looking to develop the strategy to enable the next chapter of success for this family owned conglomerate.

Deliverables: We developed the growth strategy and operating model to ensure theCompany is best positioned to growth profitably as it enters its seventh decade in business. With the strategy accepted by the Company’s management, we led the internal change management program to introduce the strategy and allow for leaders in the Company to cascade the strategy downwards. Our deliverables included the development of the creative concept and roll-out of the internal engagement. Serving 14 Cities, 9 Million people, 47,000 clients, AVERDA cleans and collects over 30 kilometers and 25,000 tons respectively of waste per day.

Deliverables: Our assignment with AVERDA focused on the development of a three pronged strategy which covered the sectors of ‘Business To Government’,‘Business to Business’ and ‘Business to Consumer’, and how best to conceptualize, develop and implement the Marketing & Corporate Communications programs relevant to each of these target audiences to either create a powerhouse value proposition for market development, or further engrain our presence and expand our service offerings with existing clients.

Ayla Oasis

Background: AYLA is one of the largest, destination real estate development projects within the Middle East, with a development spanning over 4.5 million square meters. The project has a vision focused on ‘Seaside Living Reinvented’ and is a legacy project to the people of Aqaba and Jordan from the Astra Group of Companies. With spectacular waterways spreading over 18 kilometres throughout the master plan, the first championship golf course in Jordan, an Entertainment Island, the Marina Village which houses both the Retail and Marine Yacht Club, and a low density residential and leisure focused master plan, AYLA will become a major tourism driver for Aqaba and truly redefine ‘Seaside Living’.

Deliverables: Our assignment with AYLA entailed a ‘2 Year Interim Management’ assignment focused on the major elements of the operating model including overall city development and phasing, marketing and sales strategy, the project management of the Entertainment’ program, as well as the pre-launch preparations for the Island Apartments, Marina Village Retail, Boulevard Apartments and residential land plots for high end villas. Apart from the strategic direction, our team also managed the branding, brand architecture and brand guidelines’ development and project management of the creative agencies.

Apex Real Estate are developing the Royal Gardens project, a 6 million square foot situated in Mohammed Bin Rashid City’s District 11. The project features a fully serviced master planned community comprising of townhouses, semi-detached villas as well as multi-sized villas. The 3-6 bedroom residential units feature multiple amenities and conveniences in a low density area.

Deliverables: Our assignment with Apex Real Estate included the development of the corporate Apex brand, the development of the Royal Gardens market entry strategy and commercial strategy, branding, communication, in-market activation including the Cityscape Global Exhibition & Event Management, stand design, production, video walk-through andmarketing campaigns.

Background: Located amidst vibrant Dubai Marina and within a 10 minute drive from hot spots like Jumeirah Beach, Dubai Marina Mall and Dubai Media City, the Intercontinental Dubai Marina is the place to see and be seen. Natural light fills artfully designed interiors revealing a collection of contemporary sculptures. A Michelin-starred chef and expert sommeliers attract discerning diners to their nine restaurants and bars. Featuring its own Health Club, Spa and outdoor pool, the hotel is a destination in itself.

Deliverables: Our assignment with the Intercontinental Dubai Marina Hotel was our ‘test case’ creative brief to conceptualize, develop and execute the Hotel’s Valentines Day creative package across the Restaurant portfolio in February 2016. The creative idea focused on the concept of ‘sharing’ and included creative output incorporating print advertisements, and a full spectrum of digital marketing applications.

Deliverables: Our relationship with SEDCO commenced in early 2010, and has spanned a number of assignments including the strategy, branding, marketing and communication strategy for the re-development of their mixed use Hospitality & Retail asset, ‘Galleria by ELAF’ in Jeddah, as well as corporate governance within the marketing and corporate social responsibility functions as well as acting as their creative agency for the Galleria project launch.

Oriental Pearl Real Estate/Royal Pearls

Background: Oriental Pearl Real Estate Development is one of the new entrant Real Estate Developers in the United Arab Emirates, with a landmark project currently under concept design within District 11 of the Meydan project in Mohammed Bin Rashid City master plan. The ambition of this China based developer and investment group is to create a living community of multi family apartments aimed at the middle to upper middle – income segment, where affordability is a critical ‘Right to Win’. This mixed – use development has been created under the name ‘Royal Pearls’.

Deliverables: Our assignment with Oriental Pearl Real Estate Development has entailed a turnkey approach, including market entry consultancy for the Corporate Brand. For the project brand, Royal Pearls, our assignment scope has included sales, marketing and development strategy, branding, creative communication, digital marketing and media, web design and development, unit inventory pricing studies, as well as assisting the in-house team to execute across major events and exhibitions such as Citiscape Global, through the development and management of sub-contractors for event management, stand design & fabrication, scale model development, video animation and master plan fly-through visuals as well as the interior design for their sales center located within Meydan.

Background: The Saudi Arabian automobile market grows at an annual rate of %9.8 with Audi growth at %14. With the launch of the new models, Audi seek new ways of marketing their products. While women are not permitted to drive in Saudi Arabia, they have significant social and economic leverage to directly and indirectly influence the automobile brand decision making process. With automobile brands targeting solely the male population, Audi are seeking ways to reach out to the adult female population. The Saudi women’s research is the foundation work to understand the Saudi female.

Deliverables: Our engagement for Audi Saudi Arabia was to conduct the Saudi women’s research to gain insight into the cultural, social and economic realities that help her to influence new cars, in time for the new Audi Q7 launch. The engagement scope included obtaining key insights to derive female-specific programs at key touch points for Audi.

Alsalam Aircraft Company

Background: Since 1988, Alsalam Aircraft Company has established itself as a pioneer in the Middle East’s aerospace industry by providing MRO, technical support, training and VIP interior completion services. Alsalam offer comprehensive services for military, civil aviation and VIP customers from their headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Alsalam have recently acquired the skills and technology to assemble and manufacture key components including the wings, forward fuselage, pylons and assemblies for the F15. This new capability marks Alsalam’s full-fledged entry into the aerospace industry warranting a rebrand of the company as well as a change in naming.

Deliverables: We developed the strategy and brand foundation work for the new brand identity. While the previous identity was heavily military focused and echoed the legacy of Saudi Arabia’s offset program, the new identity allows for Alsalam to expand into parallel industries including commercial aviation sectors.

In line with the new identity, the new brand guidelines, adaptations, artworks and annual launch calendar were delivered alongside the new website, media kit and collateral. A media event and video outlining Alsalam’s capabilities were also delivered.

MODON is responsible for the development of industrial cities with integrated infrastructure and services; whereas MODON has established industrial cities in various regions of the Kingdom, and is currentlyoverseeing 34 existing and underdevelopment cities which include: Riyadh (1, 2 & 3), Jeddah (1, 2, 3 & 4), Dammam (1, 2 & 3), Makkah, Qassim (1 & 2), Al-Ahssa’(1 & 2), Madinah, Al-Kharj, Sudair, Al-Zulfi, Shaqraa, Dhurma, Hail, Tabuk, Ar’ar, Al-Jouf, Assir, Jazan, Najran, Al-Baha(1 & 2), Taif and Hafr Al-Baten. Deliverables: Our assignment with MODON focuses on the conceptualization, develop-ment and execution of the ‘Living Community’ strategy, branding, creative communication, as well as signage and way-finding for the first of their model city developments in Jeddah 4. Andarakis Advisory Services were chosen to work alongside DDG North America as lead consultants for this assignment, with overall consultancy responsibility for the entire scope delivery, as well as with Cambridge 7 architectural firm in Boston, North America to deliver against the major marketing and sales infrastructure elements which will include a state of the art, digital and physical ‘Experience Centre’ on location in Jeddah 4.

Their 95 year history as pioneers in the industry make them the preferred venue for travellers, developers, partners, and team members alike. Hilton has identified Saudi Arabia as a core country and has been commissioned to be the operators for 18 new properties, which will have staged openings until 2018 across the Saudi Arabian geography. With the expansion, Hilton Worldwide must recruit over 9,000 staff to service the new properties. Recruitment in Saudi Arabia is a challenge with specificgender, ethnic and religious backgrounds barriers and requirements.

Deliverables: Our deliverables for Hilton Worldwide began with the overall strategy development to position the Hilton brand as the employer brand of choice. The strategy work further outlined the strategic initiatives and roadmap for implementation. The initiatives included a full collateral communicating the opportunities and benefits of working for Hilton. Testimonial videos, brochures, recruitment programs and stands accompanied the outputs in this engagement.

Background: Saudi Post is the official postal service of Saudi Arabia. Since its inception and with the advent of technology, Saudi Post have expanded their service offering for customers. While the additional services and particularly the e-services have developed, the marketing systems, capabilities and outputs to make existing and future customers aware and gain new users have lagged behind. Between 2013-2015, Saudi Post partnered with Andarakis Advisory Services in the scope of interim management to develop the overall corporate and product/brand strategies and execute against these strategies.

Deliverables: Throughout our two years of engagement with Saudi Post, the overall marketing strategy, brand strategies for key products and implementation of the marketing programs to bring the strategy to life were delivered as part of the interim management program. Business plans with full strategy, source-of-growth, implementation programs and implementation with the Saudi Post team were delivered for Saudi Post corporate, Ersal (remittance business), Wasl Alami (online overseas shopping & shipping), Wasl (poster & e-commerce), direct marketing services and National Address (address registration).
