About the Island• Andaman & Nicobar Island

is an archipelago of nearly 600 Islands.

• Located in the Bay of Bengal, it is close to Myanmar and Thailand than to India.

in the Andaman sea.• Popular for its Eco-huts

which are run and managed by a group called Blue Planet.

Barren Island• Barren Island is the only

active volcano in India.• Day trips are arranged to

the island.• No additional permits are

needed to visit the island, however it is not possible to set foot on the island, only view it from the far.

• Seafood is the order of the day.

• From upscale restaurants of Port Blair to the Small Dhabas of Havelock Island, fish & shellfish abounds.

• Local Indian and International dishes are also available on the mainland and some of the Islands.

• Fresh coconut waters are popular and widely available.

• Alcohols are also available in some restaurants and in the “English Beer & Wine Shop” in Port Blair and Havelock Islands.

• There are no Pub culture or Dance Clubs.

• Local Arracks are available in beach side shacks.

Travel information

• Foreigners need a Restricted Area Permit to visit the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

• A return ticket is a must for all foreigners before arrival.• Permits can be extended by 15 days in Port Blair, for a

maximum single stay of 45 days• Indian nationals do not require a permit to visit the

Andaman Islands.• It is advisable to book tickets and reserve hotels well in

advance to ensure smooth trip.• Also advisable to carry suns-cream lotion , dry fruits, torch ,

medicine, etc.
