Parliament, the Tomb of the Unknown soldier, Schliemann’s

House (Numismatic Museum), the Catholic Cathedral, the Old

Parliament, Constitution Square, the Russian Orthodox Church

and finally the Acropolis. There, your expert guide will provide

exciting and inspiring information whilst leading your visit to

fabulous parts of the Acropolis complex, such as the Propylaea,

the temple of Athena Nike, the illustrious Parthenon and the

Erechtheion with its Porch of Maidens.

We will then proceed, via a pleasant short walk passing by

Herodion and Dionyssos theatre, to visit the fascinating new

Acropolis museum: this is the ideal environment in which to

appreciate such main attractions as votives, artifacts of every

day life, statues from archaic period, the Caryatids, all in a

journey of fascinating discovery that culminates to its crescendo

at the Parthenon Hall. The new Acropolis Museum has been

voted as being within the top-three museums of the world.

Rest of day free for leisure or shopping. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 3: Corinth Canal, Epidaurus, Nauplion, Mycenae, Olympia Depart for the impressive, 6.4 km (4 mile) - long Corinth Canal

which was completed in 1893 and connects the Saronic and the

Corinthian Gulfs (short stop). Proceed to Nauplion (short stop)

and through the plain of Argos arrive to Mycenae. Visits to the

archaeological site and the Tomb of Agamemnon. In the

afternoon depart for Olympia, the birth place of the Olympic

Games, through the cities of Tripolis and Megalopolis. Overnight

stay in Olympia.

Day 4: Olympia, Delphi Visit of the archaeological site of Olympia with the Temple of

Zeus, the Temple of Hera, the altar of the Olympic flame, the

Stadium and the archaeological Museum. Depart via Patras

(short stop) to Rion, cross the Corinthian bay by the new bridge

to Antirrion. Pass by the city of Nafpaktos and from there on,

along the coastal road to Delphi, known in ancient times as the

navel of the world. In the afternoon visit the picturesque moun-

tain village of Arachova. Overnight stay in Delphi.

Day 5: Delphi, Meteora Visit the archaeological site and the museum of Delphi. Depart

for Kalambaka via Central Greece (short stop by Lamia).

Overnight stay in Kalambaka (a small town built at the foot of the

majestic rocks and crowned by the Meteora Monasteries).

Day 6: The Byzantine monasteries of Meteora Leave in the morning for the unique, precipitous rock formations

of Meteora to visit the Byzantine Monasteries. Return to Athens

passing the monument of Spartan King Leonidas at Thermopylae which commemorates the epic battle of 480 BC between the

Greeks and the countless Persian hordes. Overnight stay in

Athens.

Day 7: Departure Transfer by deluxe, air-conditioned car or coach to Athens

airport for departure.
