Mongol Rule

In the 13th century, the Mongols took control of the Korean peninsula.

Korean people were forced to build ships in order for Kublai Khan to attack the island nation of Japan.


Yi Dynasty

1392

Yi Song-gye, a military commander, seized power and founded the Yi dynasty.

This lasted for 500 years.
