This term we will be studying Ancient Civilisations. You will be creating a project on an ancient civilisation of your choice. Choose one of the following to research: Ø Ancient China (Shang Dynasty) Ø Indus River Valley Civilisation Ø Ancient Sumer Ø Mesopotamia Ø The Aztecs Ø The Incas Ø Benin Civilisation Ø Ancient Islamic Civilisation Ø Or another civilisation (approved by Mr. Michael) (We have already studied Ancient Rome, The Mayans, Ancient Greece and Ancient Egyptian Civilisations so we cannot do a project on these areas.) It is your job now to be a researcher. Research using the headings on the attached planning pages. When planning and organizing ideas, remember to: - Use point form and put the the information in your own words . Your completed handwritten notes (on the attached pages) must be handed in on Thursday 31st of May 2018. for Mr. Michael to read and hand back for you to prepare the PowerPoint. Your PowerPoint project must be completed by Wednesday the 13 th of June and saved as a PowerPoint file on your laptop. You will present your PowerPoint to the class, demonstrating what you have learned about your ancient civilisation. Presentations will take place during the week of 17 th June 2018. They will be no more than 20 minutes including 10 Plickers questions. See the attached rubric. Each project will be peer assessed by all students checking if you covered the criteria and your presentation technique.
