Solomon Gee was born in 1698 in Devonshire County, England and was "prest when young" (Which means he was taken off the streets and put aboard aship to be one of the crew) He was put on board a Man-of-War. Owing to the cruelty of the captain, he fled from this vessel to another, finally coming to thiscountry. He was a clothier by trade and made his home in Lyme, now called East Lyme, County of New London, Connecticut.-"Lyme Genealogies" manuscript by D. W. Patterson in Library of Connecticut Historical Society in Hartford, Connecticut-Solomon Gee was born 1698 in Devonshire County, England. He married Susannah Clark of New London, Connecticut on or before 1722. DeborahHuntley became his second wife, 27 March 1732. Their descendants lived near Lyme, Connecticut for several generations, but eventually scatteredthroughout the United States. They include Mormons. Solomon died 13 April 1769 in his 71st year, and was buried in Old Stone Church Burying Ground,East Lyme, Connecticut. According to the inscription on his tombstone, he was a soldier in the French-Indian War 1754-1760. Deborah died 26 March 1807and is also buried in the Old Stone Chruch Burying Ground in East Lyme, Connecticut.-"Lyme Genealogies"Other sources:Lyme Burying Ground Records.
